  1. Sorry to hear this one didn't work out. Since you're relatively new, here's an informative (2014) video on the Adam's shipping process: https://youtu.be/oubUp5ZCEoU Based on my experience, they are generally willing to work with you on orders, including last minute changes. Best customer service organization I've ever done business with. Keep in mind, though, there are likely dozens and dozens of boxes waiting to be picked up by the shipper, especially since they just got done with the limited edition 200-bucket deal (so there's hundreds of boxes already), an extended 15% off sale, etc. Finding yours would be like a needle in a haystack - I'm guessing all the Mystery Bucket boxes were similar size/shape, and they probably just tossed your towel into one vs repackaging. Re: shipping info, you may not necessarily get shipping info right away since it's probably buried under all the others waiting to go out. I know you weren't really complaining...more disappointed?...but I do find it ironic lots of folks aren't satisfied when they feel packages aren't shipped quickly enough, then when they are packaged and ready in <24 hrs, it's still an issue. Just my two cents. There will almost certainly be a July 4th sale, she's right. But in the end, if you really aren't happy, call them back and explain the situation. If there's anything they can do, I promise they will do just that. And probably more. Edit: Wasn't parroting you, Dan. My screen hadn't refreshed when I typed this, so I missed your post above. I guess I got something right!
  2. Adam says it'll last about 150-300 mi in rain/snow driving, and/or a full tank of washer fluid. Glass Boost about twice a month to maintain.
  3. Well done, Kevin. Couple other cool things about this thread...<100K miles on a '96 car, and the tree seems to have spared the snowmobile.
  4. Good point on the pool (sheet) rinse, Michael. Also, have you picked up one of the new plush drying towels? Will help significantly in the amount of time (read: shorten) it takes to dry, helping even more with reducing the chance for water spots.
  5. Wait. The car is actually white?! I thought it was your reflection off the paint. Kidding aside, nicely done, Rich. You've set a bar for me to strive for on my white car.
  6. ^^^^ Plaid has never looked so good.
  7. Playing chicken with an on-coming semi. On foot, no less. Ahhh, the things we men do for love. At least when we were newlyweds! Glad it all worked out safely, Dustin.
  8. Don't apply any water to the car until absolutely necessary. Here's a basic outline of the process I'd recommend: 1) Clean wheels, tires, wheel wells and exhaust tips first, spraying only those areas 2) Foam Gun/Canon the entire car with Adam's (pH neutral) Car Shampoo or Wash & Wax. If it dries on the car, no worries. The soap will NOT harm your car. 3) Wash car with Adam's sponge/pad/mitt, only using the soap and water that's in the cleaning tool 4) Now, hose rinse the car, and start the clock to get it dry 5) Dry with Detail Spray as a drying aid, using either of the drying towels; as others said above, H2O Guard & Gloss is another awesome option to dry, seal up and add shine!
  9. Oh, and Kasper, on a more serious note since you used the APC, you've now removed any protection on that part of the car. I'd highly recommend you don't drive it until/unless you add some form of sealant, wax, etc. HGG, for example. Otherwise, you could have bigger problems should a larger winged creature do its business on your car. Or a tree with its sap. Or... P.S. The thought of fly droppings now has me up at night. Sort of like being worried about quicksand as a kid. I really never thought about it. Until now.
  10. My son's Xterra has (recently?) developed what I can only describe as zebra stripes on the trim.It is a daily and sits outside 24/7/365, and I've treated it fairly regularly with VRT. And while I'm certain it didn't cause them, I only just noticed after a maintenance wash with the W&W. What caused them, and more importantly, how can I fix them? I do have Trim Coating, but don't want to apply it without your advice first. So I did take a stab at cleaning them up earlier last week with the TRC (thanks for the suggestion, Steve/Norton!), and it seemed to make a difference. It's also the first step before applying the trim coating. But today, they were somewhat noticeable again. Please, help my son's trim look more like a great white shark and not a zebra!!!
  11. Now this is a thread I never thought I'd see. But I do hope you sort it out, Kasper. I agree. In all my years on this earth, I've never once thought about a fly doing it's business. But it now begs the question... Is a bumble bee actually a constipated fly?!
  12. For me, it's whatever mood I'm in at the time. All I have are dailies, and like Rich said, the W&W saves time. But I do swith back and forth. And for the record, it's not actually a "wax" (i.e. no carnuba) in the W&W. I think it's a synthetic blend, simlar to a sealant.
  13. Makes removing residue super easy. Polishing won't remove it, or at least not in the brief time the pads hit the protected trim. Then, at the end of the job, retreat any areas with VRT as necessary. I havent tried it yet, but I can only assume Trim Coating would serve the same purpose? Can anyone else confirm?
  14. Welcome, Tom, and congrats on the success. Be sure to post an intro on the new member check-in thread, too. And agreed with the customer service Adam and his team continually shows. Second to none.
  15. You'll be glad you did. And if there was still any doubt, read this article. Enjoy the new toy!
  16. Welcome to the addiction, Patrick! Nice job on the woodworking. The truck and SUV look soooo real.
  17. Don't use WC without wearing disposable gloves...unless you want the stank with you the rest of the day.
  18. Good suff, Collin. Congrats on the beginning of a new venture, and best of luck! Before too long, you'll be the one adding advice...
  19. Hey, Nick, I have an extra. PM me your address and I'll send it your way.
