We've had a pretty good year.  I'm 72 now and I'm thankful that I am still in good health, still able to get onto the roof of the house without killing myself.  Thankful that the wife and I are still together and content after 46 years of marriage. Thankful for my children and two grandchildren who are growing up too quickly.  Thankful that we get to still be in their lives when so many other people don't get that chance. Thankful for my many friends who still like me enough to invite me to go  places.  Thankful for every blessing every day, and some days they are many.

Thankful that I get to wish everyone here a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you all get to enjoy a good meal with family and friends, a day off from work and a chance to relax.

    Enjoy your holiday gang.

Chasing perfection will drive you insane, especially on a daily, but even with a garage queen. Normally I'd say shoot for 90%+/- and call it a day. But with winter upon us, personally I'm good with 75%.

Ultimately, i still see a few tray surface scratched when you squat down and look at certain angles, but it is okay since it is my daily. I just wish I could get everything

I would like to add onto the wool vs microfiber thoughts.

Some companies now offer wool pads that are not SO aggressive and actually finish down quite nicely.

A wool pad on a DA can be beneficial as well, although a wool pad on a rotary will kill many defects quickly.

A big advantage of wool is that they actually run cooler than microfiber pads. When correcting paint you don't want to get the working section too hot compared to the temperature of the rest of the panel. From various sources I have learned you don't want the difference to exceed 25 degrees or so (Now I have to go back and check because I can't remember the exact number, but it was either 25 or 40 degrees).

I know Rupes has a wool pad that has decent cut but finishes beautifully and you can actually use it for one step corrections on a middle ground towards the harder side of clear coat.

Don't be scared, play around with some. They work well

Winterized the husband’s Impala today. It’s getting some PPF soon, so a few areas got polished. The rest will wait till spring.
I also tried to minimize some pretty bad marks and scratches from something that scraped the rear quarter panel. (Assuming another car kissed it pulling out of a parking spot.)  It looks better, but I’m going to have to figure something else out.  They are still pretty prevelant.

This poor car has gotten its share of abuse at the hands of some crappy people.  Someone rammed a shopping cart into the other side and there is a dent we have to have pulled out.

I see your point. I guess I had a different takeaway when I watched the video. I’ll go back and watch it again.  I agree that the diluted rinses made into a waterless like solution would not make sense to be included for obvious reasons.

Here's a picture of me in 1967 just out of basic training.  Headed out for a ship, then off to Nam.  For every one of you who served, or is currently serving,  a huge THANK YOU from me.  Your sacrifice and service is appreciated.

Was lucky enough to receive a bottle from a friend who attended SEMA.  Used it today on one of the Camaros took to the Veterans Parade in Auburn, WA (one of if not the largest parade in the West, you can view video of it at KOMO4News).  The roads were wet at our place (two hours away from the parade), we drove through rain, mist/fog, 39 degrees, and into the sun.  Which means the car was filthy by the time we got to the parade line up.  Took my 1.5k Sprayer that had filled with waterless wash and went over the entire vehicle.  Then took the new Spray Wax over it.  Went on super easy (very light mist), wiped off easy/clean,, gave a nice gloss, and I did not see any swirls.  Love the scent  of course as well, at first thought it was more cherry, after using today realized that it is like a raspberry sorbet smell. I like it and would definitely recommend.  The vinyl cling on the door panel was one of many made by our club Admin Andrew Hill (& one of my Adams Polishes customers) who is the President of Northwest Technical Products Inc., they sell commercial printers, 3d printers, laser printers/engravers, and other STEM type equipment.  He does not charge us for making the clings or our club stickers....that being will be gifting him a limited edition holiday gift set when they come out to thank him for all that he does.  Lastly, thank you to all the veterans in the group.  As a military spouse (20 years of active duty and 13 years retired), have seen the conditions/sacrifices you all have made to protect our rights & those of others....again thank you.  Richard Voit is my high school sweetheart and husband of 33 years, very proud of his military service.  We took FIFTY in the parade because it is his Camaro (technically), I drove as he had surgery a few weeks ago for a torn bicep tendon....but he ended up riding in another camaro for the parade...lol

Then we were back at that Mustang GT350.  The wheels and calipers are coated, the paint polished out and there's the first coat of ceramic down on it.  Monday afternoon it's scheduled for it's final coats and then it'll be home on Tuesday.

Well, we were back at it again this weekend.  This time we had a Mazda 3 come in for our entry level coating.  This coating is most similar to Adam's in that it applies in a single layer and is topped with a spray.  It's actually rated at five years of durability with proper maintenance.

We had a ton of work, so only grabbed a quick shot of it!

After that, we did some coating maintenance on a Volvo S60 R Design.  This coating is actually an Adam's coating we installed roughly a year ago.  He brings his vehicle to us every six months for maintenance.

Here are some teasers after polishing.  So far the wheels and calipers are coated. Wheels reinstalled. Paint decontaminated and polished out. Tomorrow evening the first layer of coating is installed.

    Enjoy!

I purposely bought my son a manual transmission for his first car, and my younger son will drive the same when he starts driving.
I want them to know how, and I feel like it forces them to be more engaged in driving, therefore less likely to text, etc... and/or become complacent.

That sounds like it could be a good time and while I am not confirmed yet, my wife it talking about coming with me since it a 14 hour trip and we'd make it a mini-vacation.

That leads to the question of how many others are looking at bringing spouses for a few days and are there any activities around for them to do in the area?

There is a variety of things to do actually. Plenty of food and restaurants to eat your way through. There are two casinos about 30 minutes from us if you want a show or gambling. And another about an hour away that just opened.

Connecticut and New England in general has a pretty awesome winery scene. About two miles from us is Connecticut’s only solar power vineyard. But there a ton of others on the Connecticut Wine Trail.

There’s the Bushnell Theatre in Hartford to catch a live show, or if you like a more intimate setting there’s the historical Goodspeed Theatre right on the Connecticut river.

A good day excursion is the Essex Riverboat and Steam Train. I don’t know if the train runs year round or not, it may. I’d have to look. That’s about 15-20 minutes from us.

So we aren’t a tourist hotbed by any means, there are somethings worth indulging in.

And for dinner the night before, I was thinking our favorite restaurant. They change the menu every six to eight weeks to a different part of the world. They have a menu that ch few seasonally for local fresh. And then their staple items. It’s on the slightly more expensive side, but worth it.

Check it here...their menu should be on open table.
