Here’s my list. I started off with stuff from the land of the rising sun, did some European rides for a while, now all domestic.

A lot of fun was had with stuff on this list, and probably more money than I wish to think about.

And yes, I had a Vega fetish for a while. I’m still looking for another clean one too.

*Asterisked vehicles* towards the bottom are cars I still own.

1974 Mazda RX-4 (my first car, bridgeported the motor, etc. stinkin’ quick for the day)

1979 Pontiac Grand Prix (the Green Lizard)

Not to derail the thread, but I think some of us are curious as to some of the stories behind some of those cars and motorcycles, Bruce.  Like the one's that were stolen.  Where any of them ever recovered?  And the Honda 550 that was sold "twice".  And the Sportster built from parts.  I'am sure I missed some.  Thanks for sharing your list.

Your wife must be a patient woman to allow you to have "parts cars"....lol

Only 27 years old, not much of a history:

2005 Toyota Corolla S in 2005, purchased by family, not mine, but I used primarily.

2006 Toyota Tacoma for $15,000, purchased by family, not mine, but I used primarily.

2010 Mazda 3, bought new for $18,400

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee bought used for $18,000 (fastest depreciating vehicle in history)

2012 Toyota Tacoma, bought used with 8,000 miles last August, currently has 26,000 miles.  Purchased for $26,500.  I love this truck and will have it until life says otherwise.

Thanks guys. I don't want to derail this post. Maybe if I get a chance I'll add some detail and post it in the lounge. The story behind the Porsche is the girl I was with that night, not the recovery. The Harley the story is the recovery. Two or three of them were bought in bars. More than one landed me behind bars (hey, it was a long time ago).

And yes, my wife is an absolute keeper! For our 5th wedding anniversary I got her chrome valve covers for her car (and she liked them).

  • 1 month later...

Great thread!  Here's mine. Some of the years may be off 'cause I'm old and don't remember so good no more.

1969 VW Beetle - 1st car, dad bought for college, had one of those fancy clutchless transmissions that was just weird at the time

1964 VW Beetle convertible "Eva" - bought with then-boyfriend/later husband/now ex-husband of 30+ yrs

1974 VW Karman Ghia - 1st new car, one-and-only for 12 glorious yrs til it rusted out from under me, never named, still missed

1985 Subaru DL wagon - bought new, practical, functional (yawn...)

1990 Isuzu Trooper - bought new, don't remember the price but remember the salesman wasn't happy

1996 Dodge Caravan - hand-me-down from my (current and final) husband

200? GMC Jimmy - bought used for my husband, handed down to me but he totaled it (kid cut him off, not his fault)

2003 Toyota Highlander - 1st new car since the Trooper!

2012 MINI Cooper S coupe "Pooch" (blurry photo top left) - stock except for upgrade to 19mm rear sway-bar, OZ wheels

Hmm...clearly, I have some catching up to do in this crowd...

When I opened this topic I expected everyone to actually be giving names to their cars, like Fiona or Connie. -_______-

27 years old

1995 Ford Taurus. Mother bought it new in 1994, then gave it to me when I got my license. Never garaged, all original. Sold in 2010 with 79,000 miles.

1988 Corvette. Bought in rough shape in 2007 with 82,000 miles. Fixed it up over the course of 2 years. Currently has 96,000 and a dozen or so trophies to show for it.

2009 Pontiac G8. Bought in 2010 with 11,000 miles. Currently has 32,000 miles. Daily driver, lives outside 24/7/365; although when I tell people this at car shows they tend to call me a liar.

68 Ford Fairlane - bought new by my great grandfather and passed through the family

84 Chrysler Laser 2.2 Turbo

92 Mustang Convertible 4 cylinder

86 Mercury Gran Marquis Colony Park Wagon fake wood sides and all

00 Dodge Dakota R/T... First new vehicle I ever bought. Wish I had known how to truly take care of a car back then. That blue was amazing.

98 Honda XR650L

98 Honda Magna

93 Mustang Cobra (Dad bought it new, 10 years later I bought it from him, 10 years later he bought it back)

94 Mustang GT Convertible (bought this to be a Factory Five donor car. drove it for about 8 years, then sold it.)

93 Toyota MR2 2.2 non-turbo (bought this from my sister with hail damage. Swapped in a 3.5L V6 and a stronger transmission when the original transmission went out... This car is a blast. If only I could quit driving it long enough to finish it.)

13 Ford Taurus SHO in Tuxedo Black. (my family hauler... I'm new to Adam's products, so I'm getting practice on other cars first, but I eagerly await the time to do the full face melter on this car.)

I'll list, and show as many of mine as I can remember, LOL! I've been driving company cars since 1983 and I've not shown or listed any of those, unless I purchased them.

Well, those were incredibly fun photos! :)

Back on the topic of naming cars: I've only named two cars out of all that I've owned. I find that cars tend to name themselves rather than the other way around. At least that's been my experience. I've even named cars that weren't mine because after driving them, they just seemed to deserve names. One was a yellow Corvette coupe that I rented during a week-long Miami vacation and named Sunny. The other was a little open-wheel racecar that I drove in a class recently, #12, who became Tina after 2 days of patiently suffering through my learning to shift her properly.

I think i have the shortest list in the entire thread.

2001 Mustang Bullitt (named her Jade)

Bought it used with 139k on it 3 days after i turned 18. My first and only car as of right now. If i wasn't so attached to it, or if it was a regular GT i probably would have sold it by now for a Cobra or new 5.0. But i just can't bring myself to sell it.. So it's my money pit right now.

The day i bought it
