Adam's New Tire Shine

EverReady

Question

Great product! I have tried 3-4 other tire shine products and I am staying with Adam's New Tire Shine. Easy to apply, easy to clean up over spray, maintains gloss, does not smear or fling. I am so glad Adams developed this product. I was tired of spending money on inferior products that did not meet all my criteria for a tire shine product. No more searching.

I'm having a little difficulty getting used to it. I slung a little today (and I used very little and it had dried for a couple hours ) something the VRT doesn't do. I'm going to practice, but I may continue with the VRT on the tires and be done with it. The jury is still our for me. I like the way it looks, but let's see

I am going to use up the rest of my bottle and go back to VRT...... Tire shine is too shiney and takes too long to be sling proof. Dulls out after the first washing and I like the look after a wash or two (a little more shine than VRT)

VRT is the best!...... Especially for the look (clean and new) that I want.

Glad you like it Daniel, I do too.

I have six cars (before you get too excited; wife's, two daughter's, my company car, mine and the GTO) and have used it on more than those six sets of tires. I've found the Tire Shine has a different appearance and ability to absorb into the tire for every different brand.

Scott, be sure to use the Foam Block Applicator or Pro Hex Grip Tire Applicator to pull the product out that pools in the side lugs or treads. What pools will just lay there in wait for you to drive and will sling.

Charlie, I don't like the tire too shiny either. Here's what I've learned to do to give the appearance almost identical to SVRT that will last through rain and usually the next washing. I apply the product to all for tires using a Foam Block Sponge or Pro Hex Grip Tire Applicator, not spraying the tire, but using the applicator to spread it evenly and completely. After a 15 minute wait I go back and level the product with a terry cloth or Edgeless Utility Towel. Again though, I've found some brand tires gloss higher than others.

I was just thinking about buying some more of these tops instead of the sprayer.  How do you like it compared to the sprayer?

Michael, I use both the sprayer if I want a higher gloss, or the self cleaning top if I'm pouring the Tire Shine directly onto an applicator. For high gloss using the sprayer, I do as Adam explains in his video.

I just got my bottle yesterday, and tried it out last night. Not sure if it was supposed to, but mine didn't come with a sprayer. I simply applied it with a sponge applicator. Let it sit overnight, looked awesome this morning! I love this stuff!!

Here is a quick before and after post request from Ben and Nick @Adams...

I finally had more than an hour to devote to washing and cleaning the car up (in over 2 months) :(

Here are the results of my new tire shine and DWC.  LOVE IT.  I will say though that I was surprised at how slick the tires were after application in the corners.  After letting it dry and break it down with a block sponge, the tires were still loosing some traction and activating TC (traction control) for a good few miles after the first application. (To be fair, I applied it LIBERALLY)  Other than that, it looks AWESOME!!!!!!

Here are the before and after photos.  (not perfect but I was only dedicating 2 hrs to the whole car)

DWC is the ONLY product I have found that cuts BMW aggressive break pad dust with just one/two applications (and wheel woolie/utility towel to clean up the residuals).

Keep up the GREAT work!

Great feedback! I spray a mist of Tire Shine into the tread block of the Michelins X's that came stock on our F-250. Then, use a sponge to cover the rest of the tire. The VRT doesn't seem to hold up as well on this specific tire.

However, on my wife's car, the VRT offers plenty of even dark goodness. It has Michelin Pilots, and I swear the rubber comes from a different planet!

Like my friend Dave (BRZN) says, tires are very different, rubber compounds, and even the design of the tire face. Each tire in our garage responds differently to the different dressings.

This far, my preferences:

1- BFG All Terrain: Tire Shine, sprayed into tread block, then evened out.

2- Cooper Zeon: VRT.

3- Michelin X, stock 3/4 ton and 1-ton tires: Tire Shine, applied thin and wiped with sponge

4- Michelin Pilot: VRT

Me too. After trying several different application methods, and letting things for at least 2 hours, it still sling all over the side of the Superbee after driving 15 minutes to a show yesterday. It there sat another 2 hours, and still slung again on the way home. Super VRT has never done this,  and it doesn't have to sit. Sorry to say that this is the first Adam's product that I'm very disappointed in, and in fact, will give my bottle to someone who wants it if I see them at a show. Sorry Adam. Still love the VRT (best product around, and I use Surf City an Megs stuff as well) and still love your Detail Spray.

Oh, and Adam, about the tires. I use VRT on the Michelin PS2s on my Viper, and it is fantastic. Also on the Firestone Firehawks on the Bee. It's the Tire Shine that slings when I use it on the Firehawks. It didn't sling as much on the Continental Contisport Contacts on my Dart.

Still, I'll return to using VRT all around (which also the BEST stuff for trim) and, my Mother's FX Tire Shine.

Your Tire Shine seems to work for many, it just isn't for me. But, glad I tried it.

I had to come and add to this thread. This stuff is awesome. I bought/used it about 2 weeks ago and my tires still have a wet look to them. Unbelievable considering how much of the competitors junk I've been through over the years. Great product Adam's and thanks for making it!!!

I love this stuff. Personally, I like the wet look without the sling. Only concern I have is my sprayer is weird. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that or if I got a defective sprayer. It doesn't spray a normal fan type of pattern.

PS- If anybody doesn't want the rest of their spray I will gladly pay for you to ship it to me if you want to donate it. :D

I had the same problem with the sprayers that came with both bottles of Tire Shine.  The spray was more of a two-stream spurt and not a good fan pattern, especially when trying to spray a light mist as opposed to a full, hard pull on the trigger.  There is something in the product that seems to make it stick together more and not atomize well.  The SVRT milk I spray is much thicker but the sprayer works fine.  I switched to a Kwazar for the Tire Shine and it works better.  It still does not atomize like other products but it least it does not spurt.

Finally tried this stuff today. Man it looks good.

Not sure how long it last, time will tell!

Mine had lasted several rainshowers and about a week of time. I'm impressed and hoping for the gallon refill soon before I place my next order.

Just tried mine for the first time and Im VERY impressed with it. My sprayer seems to be like a lot of other members and not spray a nice fan. So I streamed a line across the top tread blocks and the bottom, then used an applicator sponge to spread evenly. We have been having a ton of rain here in Sydney the last 2 weeks so it will be interesting to see the longevity...... love the smell too!
