Detail spray

My detailing kit came in this week and have a question. Can you use the detail spray with a light coat of dust on the truck or does it need to be completely clean? I wash my truck weekly so it's clean besides the little layer of dust on it which it isn't even really that bad but it is there. And what towel to use with detail spray??

Absolutely you can remove light dust with DS. You can use either Double Soft, Single Soft or WW mf towel.

Detail works great for light dust.  Just be sure to use VERY LITTLE pressure above the weight of the towel.

 

Anything more than light dust is a job for Rinseless Wash.

It will be fine, along with a good micro fiber as mentioned. 

 

I personally will use rinseless mixed down to 16:1 if there is a fair amount on the vehicle. 

 

But just a light coating of dust detail and a good towel will sever you well.

Be sure to fold the towel so you have at least 4 'sides' - fold in half, then in half again.  When cleaning, turn to a clean 'side' of the towel often.  It can be easy to install light swirls with this method if you are not careful.

I like the Waterless Wash for visible dust.  Detail Spray for very light dust.

Very light dust is Detail Spray.  If its a light coating of dusty dirt from driving, use the RTU Waterless, or a dilution of Rinseless Wash to encapsulate the dirt better and take it away

If it's a light layer, you should be totally fine but remember when you're removing dust, to spray more liberally.  The more liquid, the less likely you'll scratch the paint.
