I've had great luck with Patriot Wax for the winters in Pennsylvania. We get some nasty crap here, snow and salt and cinders from November to May.

Treat those factory wheels just like paint. Clean thoroughly, polish and prep if you're going to coat them. If you want the longest lasting protection, use the Wheel Coating. Ceramic Spray Coating is a great alternative, just don't expect the same longevity you would see with it on paint. Maintain the coating with any of the silica-infused products, and about every wash is fine as even Ceramic Boost will degrade faster on wheels than paint.

I used wheel and tire cleaner to clean them up so now if I use some revive hand polish that should do it then? Follow up with a ceramic spray and all should be shined up like new.

This is a shot of 'Old no. 2' the 1912 race car I get to work on.  The owner started with the radiator, the engine, and the frame, and it took 14 years to get from collecting parts to completion.   His idea was to build a car like you could have had in the day, if money was no object, and to allow you jump in it and drive across the country (it has plug in for headlights, and between the seats are plugs for heated motorcycle suits) .
I call it a 1912 Indy spec custom hot rod, as it is like a Kindigit car, with no exposed wires or bolts, and lots of summitry (the holes in the hand brake and gear shift align perfectly).  Oh, and the engine - a 10 liter/600 cu. in. 4 cylinder (the 'formula' for the Indy race that year).  It will idle at 90 RPM - kind of like a 110 MPH tractor!
It is a lot of fun to show, and even more fun to drive!

*I'll start off with a disclaimer: the owner of a body shop I had my '06 GTO to fall a year ago, told me he would not even attempt to sand on a late model vehicle's original clear coat, it's too thin, and not worth the risk. I've done it successfully on many vehicles, just lucky to this point?

From experience, I'd say wet sanding would be needed to remove the scratch you can catch with a finger nail. Wet sanding is not for the weak of heart for sure. While sanding I'd knock down the other scratches too.
Start with 1,500 grit Wet/Dry paper, using it wet and keeping the paint surface wet.
    Follow up with:
    2,000 grit
    2,500 grit
    and finish with 3,000 grit
Sand it straight lines and alternate the grits from horizontal to vertical. This way you'll be able to see when you've removed the previous grits marks.

Now, without a machine you're going to get a bit of a triceps, wrist and shoulder workout.
Use Adam's New Scratch and Swirl Remover with an Orange Hex Grip Applicator
Followed up with our New Hand Polish with a Blue Hex Grip Applicator.

I played with this combination on a test panel Friday afternoon and appear to have been able to remove most all of the 1,500 grit equivalent scuff pad marks with a bit of effort. The white rectangular thing in the bottom of the first picture below is the white scuff pad I used to put in the marks.

Below are the results after working the Scratch & Swirl Remover (by hand) twice and following up with the Hand Polish

I was surprised to see a $1250 gift card for Adam's Polishes as a prize on The Price Is Right this morning!  Not sure if the fact they were giving away a Corvette Stingray during the show had anything to do with it or not,  but it was a nice surprise.

My sisters 300 "Big Sal" is the latest hydrophobic car on the road courtesy of yours truly.  The new compound is nice to work with, ended up using that, polish, brilliant glaze and sealant. Did a full recon for her, sealed the windows and scrubbed 5 years of brake dust from the barrels. I owe her interior dressing and leather conditioner which I have yet to buy.

    Thanks,
Soon to be single if I purchase these!
