Woke up early on Saturday morning and drove to MetLife Stadium.  Got in some tailgating before watching my oldest son's high school football team, the West Essex Knights, win the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 2 Group 3 Championship by a score of 28-14 !!!!!   Way to go West Essex !!

Not exactly today, but 11 days ago I took another shipping job and crossed the Atlantic on a RoRo ship. Just pulling into Belgium now, probably spend Christmas in Germany, then a quick stop in the UK before heading back to the states. Check out these pics, last one is my ship, rest is some cargo some of you might appreciate. And yes, those are McLarens.

Congrats on the new job!  :2thumbs:

And for the rest of us landlubbers... I had to look up "RoRo ship" and it stands for "Roll-on/roll-off" which means the wheeled cargo is driven onto the ship, instead of lift-on/lift-off (LoLo).  Learn something every day!

Thank you!

And yes, stands for roll on/roll off. All those BMWs sitting there in that parking lot were all delivered by our company from Germany. We’re in Antwerp now picking up tractors!

Too cool, Dustin! I'm afraid they took those McClarens to the wrong place, though. I was home all day waiting.

Washed the truck today. It was above freezing so I took out the hose and my home built undercarriage sprayer and thoroughly rinsed the underside. Loaded up my wash bucket with hot water soap and a wash pad and sealed the lid. Threw that in the back of the truck. Put th Ultra Plush drying towel, detail

spray, all purpose spray and a wheel brush in the cab. Drove over to the pay and spray to get to work. Found out that they installed a high pressure undercarriage sprayer with a roller on it to get under vehicles!!! Not only that but it also sprays Salt-A-Way!! ??????

So I washed the underside again with that!

Did a slow methodical pre rinse with the pressure washer. Did my wash pad, then used the APC, and left over wash to get tires and rims. Rinsed again and pulled out into the sun and dried the DS and the Ultra Plush.

Between setting up at my house doing the whole process and then cleaning up bucket and tools at home only took me 2 hours.

Annd it’s supposed to rain and snow on Friday again. At least I have 2 days with a clean truck

What did I do today?  Got up at 6 a.m. waiting for the guys to come to replace our sewer lines (they were supposed to be here by 7 a.m.) but they showed up at 8.  Sewer line replacement from the street to the house is mandatory in our town right now and at the homeowners expense. Interesting to watch how they do it.  They used a big machine and pulled a sleeve through the existing line from the house to the street and tied it all in, then drilled a new hole into the foundation block to run a pipe from my sump pump into the back yard to eliminate ground water which seeps in and isn't allowed in the sewer lines.  And lastly, they installed a large pump and new pipe to run our washing machine gray water into the sewer.  Took about 5 hours total.  I got off easy because most of my neighbors have had to have their entire basements and floors, even garages, dug up.  My pipes were all high, close to the ceiling in the basement.  They'll be back in the morning to fix a couple of leaks and fill two holes in the walls.  Cost me around three grand, but I got off lucky.  A lot of people ended up paying between 5 and 10 K.  Hard on the seniors for sure to come up with that kind of cash.

Interesting day.

Rich

First off, that’s crazy that it is mandatory and you have to pay for it all.

Secondly, it does sound like it was interesting to watch. That’s how I grew up, watching all kinds of trades working, absorbing a lot of info. It’s probably why my wife always says “how do you know all this stuff?” I would have like to have seen what and how they did your work.
