Welcome! Also on Oahu here. It's definitely fun to learn from all these fine folks. Perhaps I've bumped into you at Alex's place before.

I think washing is perfectly fine and probably "normal" for the folks around here. You don't need to finish with a layer of wax or sealant every time though. As was mentioned, a Detail Spray wipe down should get you through for "routine maintenance". Washing the car shouldn't strip the protection you previously applied so you should be good for at least a month or two....probably longer. Good luck!

If you've already got the products to get the job done, it's at least worth a shot right? The results are so much more gratifying when you do it yourself too. Have fun!

Seeing more posts from the main man himself is truly appreciated and I look forward to seeing what Adam's has in store for us. I still haven't come across a better line of products or a better group of people who are so eager to help me make my family car look a whole lot better than it should. I know that it's not easy to replace some of the "voices" that we had grown so accustomed to, but I also know that there are still many truly exceptional detailing enthusiasts out there who will step forward to help us out. Thanks for making the car detailing experience as enjoyable as it should be!

It's so tough to see one so dedicated and talented as Dylan depart our small community. I know he'll find success wherever he goes. Those are some big shoes to fill so I'm anxious to see who steps up to the plate.

For me, I took the plunge with a starter kit, but it was watching the free DVD that came with it that turned my interest into a full-blown obsession. The great advice and demonstrations really made me believe that I could achieve the same (or at least similar) results. Genius idea!

I feel kind of bad for saying this, but I hate when I get "help" from friends and family members who want to detail their cars, but they don't bother to pay attention to the finer details as they go. I just end up going back over the same areas and feel like it would have been easier to do everything myself.

Yup! Same here. I think that's the great thing about the product. Spray it on and let it settle while you bask in the glory of the grape scent then walk away. I've also had great longevity with the product lasting for several weeks at a time. I hope things work out, but the VRT idea is also a good one. Good luck!

Masaharu got a reaction from feraeMinoopego in Silly Question -polishing the roof
Okay so here's a silly question for the good people out there. I tried polishing the roof of my car, but I wasn't quite tall enough. I tried grabbing a chair to stand upon, but lacked the balance to keep the chair from wobbling thus making polishing quite the challenge. What do you use to reach those areas? Step ladder? Motorized platform? Climb the door? Any advice is most appreciated. Thanks!
