I agree with Chris.  I LOVE microfiber's cutting ability.

Yes I have seen the backing come off MF pads before as well.  Adam's ones are built well and work VERY well.

Even with a Cyclo, the effectiveness of MF is great.  I still use both the microfiber and the foam orange pads.  I test the foam first to see if I can get away with less, then move to the microfiber if needed.  The specific paint on my particular BMW required only microfiber as the clear coat was very hard to cut.  Others will be different.  Always test on a small area if you decide to go MF, that way if it cuts too much for you (if possible) with a PC or Cyclo, then the effects will be seen less and you can move on to a different strategy.

4 bucks for a 12 gallon tote, made in Canada so it's as close to USA as you can get.

I keep 2 on my detail shelf to store microfibers but getting one for travel use would be a good ifea

Man you guys really debate on here lol.

If you're claying and going straight to sealant (say in the case of a winter prep where you're not looking to polish until spring) why not just use Waterless Wash as a claying lubricant instead of V2 Detail spray?  Waterless wash has the cleaners that you want to keep the surface fresh but not the protection adding ability of V2 Detail Spray that "might" make your sealant not bond as well since its a wax enhancer as well now (something I have absolutely no problem with BTW, original Detail spray in itself just used as a drying agent extended the life of my coat of sealant significantly last year, can't wait to get a new gallon refill when i'm done with my V1)

And for those of you saying WW is being phased out, you can make a new gallon of WW with 8 oz of Rinseless and a gallon of distilled water.  If I were claying and laying a coat of wax/sealant on for winter and doing nothing else, I'd clay with Waterless, make sure surface is clean and ready to roll, and lay down my sealant.  Done.

You should always as good practice do an IPA wipe down after polishing anyway to give a clean and bare surface for sealant to bond too.

Ricky Bobby got a reaction from mtnbiker326 in 1/2 gallon
Its not gonna happen with Adam's price structure, which actually gives you a lot of value at gallon refills if you use a lot of product.

They would have to change the price of the gallons higher to make a 1/2 gallon $25, a gallon of Detail Spray would have to be $50 at least.

At $25 for a half gallon that is the cost of 2 - 16 oz. bottles ($13 each).  Which is the same multiplication now more or less, when you do the 16 oz. to 1 gallon price point, as the pricing structure is about 3.5 to 4 of the 16 oz. bottles gets you 1 gallon of product, which is a great value IMO.

Don't forget forum discount at 10%, sometimes more if there are special promotions, so your $45 for a gallon just became $40.  Or if you really just don't want the big jug, you can get 2 of the 16 oz bottles for $23.

Why not buy a gallon and the 32 oz. sprayer I mentioned earlier in the thread and you can fill up a 32 oz bottle a couple times and sell the rest of the gallon to a friend or forum member.

I'd say about 2 coats of Quick Sealant with Detail Spray V2's wax boosting abilities will keep your vehicle protected and shiny for 6 months or more, maybe even a year if you don't get salt.

That's as close to a coating as you're going to get, and its DAMN good, considering 10 years ago I was waxing my car every 2 months, before high quality, long term durable sealants really hit the mainstream consumer.

Adam hit it right on the head, I'd be bored as hell if I couldn't clay twice a year, polish and wax regularly.

I LOVE the Wheel Woolies!  The thicker handles make them easier to work with too.

I use a third bucket, but it is one of those flat sided ones and I just use it for storing/transporting the tire cleaning supplies.  I keep the Fender Brush, Tire Brush, Boar's Hair Wheel Brush, the 2 large Woolies, a 36 oz. bottle of pre-mixed Car Wash Shampoo, 16 oz. bottle of APC (diluted 50/50 with water), 16 oz. bottle of GWC (diluted 60/40), and a kneeling pad in the bucket part.  In front is a oval shaped 'handle' area where the old and new Lug Nut Brushes, and a SwissVax lug nut brush are stored.  I drilled a small hole beside the 'handle' to store the small Woolie.

Well I already own the Super Block applicator (love it), and still have a half bottle of SVRT left (a little really does go a long way, I've had the bottle over a year now), but since my recent thread about deep wheel cleaning (which I really only do 2-3 times a year at most), I figured what could make wheel cleaning more enjoyable and save the skin on my hands when doing the inner barrels?

Well, Wheel Woolies of course!  I absolutely LOVE the fact that Adam's made the large and medium woolie the same 18" handle length, and I looked up the old thread with the side by side comparison, good thing I looked!  I almost bought the "stock" woolies from another vendor, but leave it to Adam's to keep the price point same for the 3 pack, and make some nice improvements to them as well!

Looking forward to adding them to my wheel/tire arsenal and making the job easier.  (Currently have the 20" Fender/tire brush and Deep Tire Scrub brush)  Even though I only use DWC 2-3 times a year (with a coat of sealant afterwards) at most, should be a lot of fun even with a bucket of suds to clean the wheels up!

Also threw in my second bottle of Rinseless wash (I mixed up a gallon of Waterless with the first bottle I bought), and a Hex-Grip applicator for the tires, always wanted one and looking forward to using it on my 20" wheels on the X5 and my wife's 17" wheels (soon to be 18").

That should hopefully get me through till spring, but by the time it warms up in Jersey I'm sure I'll be needing a fresh gallon of V2 detail spray!

Silly question by the way, do you use a dedicated wheel/tire bucket (a true 3 bucket method) which doesn't ever get used as a wash/rinse bucket, or you just rinse out and refill with fresh?  I have an extra 5 gallon bucket in the basement, was thinking about a 3rd grit guard and using it as a dedicated wheel/tire bucket, or am I just being redundant with that?

I personally tested this ALL of last summer when Rinseless was in it's infancy.  It works IMO better in all aspects as a Waterless Wash, than the current WW, however, I believe the current WW to actually pre-soak bugs a little bit better.

Thanks Dave, and your question is extremely valid.  The old 5-Year No-Wax company that has been around forever is interesting.  Consider the following things about a semi-permanent coating:
A protective coating will not prevent surface scratches, as a result of regular washing and wiping. It will not stop paint over-spray, industrial fallout, tree-sap, bug splatter, etc. It will not create a slick long term finish, which will reduce drag, and as a result, scratches. A vehicle stored indoors day and night, will require less maintenance.   Here is the real difference between the idea of a 5-year protection, and our company:
We love washing, drying, cleaning, and detailing our vehicles. It is our form of therapy.  During our work day, we go into the warehouse or garage, and clean a vehicle, or bicycle. We enjoy the increased shine that comes after polishing a vehicle. It' a happy day when our vehicle needs a clay and polish! If we had a protection that we couldn't mess with, we'd be bored silly. Claying, Polishing, glazing, waxing and sealing is one of our favorite things to do! There is no less protection with our system. While a 5+ year coating sounds good in marketing, it goes against our customer's goals:  "Maintain vehicles regularly with excellent products and extreme passion, achieving therapy doing so."

That plus, we have never seen any 5-year marketed products last more than 6 months.  About as long as our Liquid Paint Sealant.

No disrespect to the long term protection, but the circumstances that are needed to make something last one year, let alone 5 years, rarely happen on earth!

I only have one car that I care for so my experience may not be typical but I think it is silly to save used clay.  I break off enough to clay the car and store the unused clay, of course.  But the used clay gets tossed after the car is finished.

Saving it to reuse later seems a bit "Penny wise, pound foolish" to me.

If I was doing multiple cars I might have a different opinion.

Mine sit until I have enough for a load.   I leave them in the garage and they can set for 2-4 weeks.

And watch out for the black towels (if you have any of them) as they like to stain anything they are next to that is a lighter color.

Correct, and it actually will perform even better than the current WW.

Add an ounce of RW to 16oz (or 15oz if you're picky ) and you have some sprayable Rinseless Wash that can be used in the same manner as WW has been.

At that dilution, it's slicker and emulsifies better than the current WW does.

I've been storing it in a plastic Baggie for 10 years now no mildew. Squeeze most air out, and mist it with detail spray so it doesn't dry out.

I also keep it in the plastic tub the old Adams clay came in for a double seal. You replace it when it's visually dirty, no necessary time frame for wear and tear lol it's not brakes.

No problem at all. I have a little "laundry bin" for mf towels. Sometimes towels will be in there for a few weeks or longer before I have enough to justify doing a load. They always come out fine.

I would definitely make sure to put a coat of sealant on the wheels after using Deep Wheel Cleaner. See my other thread about using DWC often, for my normal maintenance washes I prob only need to deep clean my wheels 2-3 times a year and I seal them afterwards for tight beading and protection.

I will still buy gallons as I can't get over the awesome smell, and sometimes you like a little extra gloss with your QD as opposed to the straight clean/shine properties of Waterless.
