I bought the Porter Cable because everything I heard was that its very easy to use and great for beginners.
There were some complaints about excess vibrations. Thats probably true but I have nothing to compare it against.
My paint was in good shape to start but I did have some water spots that were not going to come out by hand. They are gone now.
I think the car looks amazing. Very deep shine with a really nice mirror finish.

I am glad I bought it.

I like to use it for 'paint prep' for darker colors.  It is good as a paint cleaner before applying PS or Americana.

Well in my state (Delaware) you can be ticketed if you don't have your car or truck cleaned off. I know it sux but that is why I have to do a good polish after the winter time. I usually just take the snow off and try to leave a light coat on the paint, that way it helps on eliminating most scratches.

I don't know if Adams made or just resold them, but if you do a google search, there's plenty of other companies that sell them.

No brushes on the paint. They will scratch. Let the snow melt on the car.

All coatings "allow" waxing... there isn't a ban on it

The issue is that the hydrophobic nature of the coating would be compromised by layering a wax over the top... the primary reason you would want a coating on the paint of your vehicle is its ability to shed contamination and moisture from its surface. Inhibiting that feature somewhat defeats a large part of the primary purpose of applying a coating in the first place. A quality coating product from a reputable manufacturer is going to be FAR more hydrophobic than a wax could ever hope to be... add to that the fact the wax itself would behave like a surface contaminant and the coating would not allow it to adhere very well to the surface.

It would be like taking your non-stick frying pan, and applying something to it that made things more likely to stick. Just isn't logical.

Exactly what do you think the infrared lamp is doing then? Maybe research IR lamps first cause the whole process is about transferring energy to another object, which simply put, heats up the coating allowing it to fully cure or cure at a quicker rate.

    James,
Both cars were striped washed with Adam's Strip Wash, then completely clay bared, and then the sealant applied. It's no big issue, I was just pointing out the price difference between the two products. Like I stated before, Adam's Paint Sealant is a great product. Along with others on the market, I was just cost evaluating them....that's all.

I'd still question the actual prep work. Strip wash is one thing, and claying the car is another. Maybe one needed it, and the other didn't. Hard to speculate with not seeing them in person.

But to your point, there's usually a sale to help with the price. And the bottle is way better than the competition.....meaning your product will stay in top condition for longer. That translates to lower cost since you won't have as much waste from product going bad.

    to say the least!

I'm trying to quit using chewing tobacco (after more than 20 years) and I reached one of those points where I needed to focus my time on something else for a while. So I decided to focus on the interior of my truck; outside needs washed, but it was dark already.

Although I've been a member for a couple of months and have spent a ridiculous amount of money on Adam's products, I hadn't had the opportunity to try any of them. Tonight I used the leather and interior cleaner and wow...it cleans amazingly!

I used leather condition on all non-painted part/pieces inside and they look immaculate!

I used the detail spray on my touchscreen entertainment center and all grimy fingerprints are gone!

I had high expectations for all the products I've ordered and just these 3 exceeded my expectations! Plus they smell amazing, LOL! I can't wait to break the rest out and get going!

    Thanks Adams...

For the GG 6" you want the Adam's 5 inch baking plate and the Adam's 6 inch foam pads & 5.5 inch MF pads.

I would do an Alcohol wipe down in the area you are going to touch up and then wait at least a few days before polishing.

Touch up paint dries pretty quickly, so that's a bit excessive. I would wait like 30 minutes to an hour and if the paint is still there after polishing then you're good to go.

It was clayed a month ago . I wash weekly . I'll keep playing with it . I clayed a fender yesterday to Polish. It's a respray that's softer than the factory clear and swirls just looking at it ,so next wash I'll try again and see if it's better

When is the last time you clayed the car? Or possibly needing a coat of wax or sealer. I know I washed my truck one time after not doing a good detail in a while and it seemed to do something like you are saying.

The detail spray does have a very small amount of carnauba in it, so maybe that's what you're seeing? Now that I'm thinking back, when I use the detail spray to spot check, normally it does take a couple wipes to clean the area completely. But I think if give it an initial wipe and let it sit, it will slowly evaporate (I'm not sure the correct term), but eventually it should go away.

Also, what detail spray are you using, and how old is it? Shaken before use?

is the towel sticking to the paint or is it simply falling off the paint? Also the streaking while typically visible durring the wipe of the paint usually is not visible after.

Good to hear you tried to remove the polishing oils before you sealed, as that is my guess to your issue.

Before polishing the hood, try just wiping one of the problem areas with 70% IPA a few times to remove the LPS and the polishing oils that may be on the surface, then reapply the sealant.

It could be like you said, and you missed some, or your towel had too much residue on it and was not wiping clean.

It is a little surprising how much residue is left on the surface when just wiping polish residue with a dry towel.  A good way to see this for yourself is to hand polish with Revive, wipe with a dry towel really well, then go back over it with a clean towel and IPA, and you will see the additional blue residue that gets removed.

In this pic, the dry towel on the left was used to remove the residue, then the two towels on the right were used to wipe again with IPA.  You can see the blue color of the additional residue that was removed.

This has been brought up numerous times. Part of the issue is that Adams Canada looks, feels, and sounds like Adams but in reality it is a separate entity.

I do wish Adams Canada was on par with Adams .com, but if it has not happened yet, it probably won't happen.

We miss out on Mystery Boxes, the new website, but Dexter (Adams Canada) does get the new products pretty fast (we do miss some...), and his service is A+. On the other hand, we benefit in some ways AdamsPolishes.com does not, we get some pretty awesome clearance items, not to mention we still have Adams Quick Sealant where our American neighbors are left out in the cold on this one..

People would probably be happier if Adams Canada, was not called adamspolishes.ca. It gives people the wrong idea and expectation.
