Exactly.  No need to follow up with all those other products.  Use the spray coating and you can use the other graphene products to maintain it.

Interesting to hear all the problems coating a car. PREP WORK, its all in the prep work and taking time to do it ! To much coating on the applicator will leave a high spot on the last stroke of your applicator, I go over it 3 times, once across, once up and down, one more time across again, smooths out all of the coating. Do small areas, slow down, no way to have high spots if you check your work before moving on to the next spot (2x2 at the most )-not panel-small areas at a time ! Use the UV light to see where you stopped, or missed. I find it very easy to use if you take your time. Bring your car to me and I'll do it for you !! LOL

Thanks for the vote of confidence Guz. I will take my time and be sure to level and wipe off really well.
Also thanks for the link, as I will go through that again tonight before starting with the Coating.

Professionals don't always get it right either.  I agree that a spray coating is much easier but a coating is not that hard to use.  I have been using coatings for about 15 years and the coatings of today are much easier to use.  What happens is newcomers to coatings go heavy on their application and this makes it difficult to wipe off the carrier solvents and push them around rather then getting them all off the surface.

The understanding of the flash times is important.  Especially with the affects of temperature and humidity.  I for one would not be applying a coating in 86 degree weather regardless of the humidity.  Been there, done that and the experience always leads to trouble.  This is where professionals have the edge due to a controlled temperature environment.

Lets not forget the amount of towels needed to get the job done.  Some thing two towels will be enough and this is not true.  Towels become loaded with product and will eventually not pick up anything.

The other thing is lighting.  It is key to inspect and not with bright lighting.  Diffused lighting works best for seeing high spots.  Which leads me to people freaking themselves out about high spots that they end up not enjoying the process and leads them to have more high spots than anything.  I used to bein the same situation when I first started playing with coatings and since then it is the least of my worries because they are an easy fix.

I have seen your posts and just because your experience was not good does not mean others will have the same experience. Don't take this personally just stating what I have noticed.

I find the graphene ceramic coating to be so easy to use compared to other coatings I have used.  Like all coatings prep is key.

Try coating white or silver paint.  By far harder than applying to black.

    1. Yes you can use it on the wheels.  Should?  Well that is going to depend on if you want to do it or not.  At a minimum the face of the wheels if you don't want to take them off.

    2. After the PPF has been installed.

What you are experiencing is high spots.  It is common especially when someone is new to applying coatings.  It takes a few iterations to get used to the flash times of a coating.  It is not the products fault.  It is an easy fix.  Polish, prep and re-coat.

I have used both versions with no issues but I have been applying coatings for over a decade.

I, too, would be very reluctant to use Black Trim Restorer. It's a dye, and the coating has already now sealed the pores in the trim so I highly doubt it'll work. In fact, it'll probably be rejected by the coating and just run off. I could be wrong, but I'm very skeptical. @Chris@Adams and @Dan@Adams have had some experience working with this issue and may have some more insight.

I recently bought a used ATS-V. I was happy with every aspect of the car except for the wheels. I used all of my Adam's wheel products and still had stains/water spots that wouldn't come off. I even tried some distilled white vinegar, and that didn't work either. Finally, I decided to use my drill with the Adam's mini pads and Adam's polish. I'm extremely happy with the results.

It won't clog the pores if that is your concern.  Also you won't need anything else on it like leather conditioner.  It will repel it anyway.  A simple wipe with any of the interior detailer will be sufficient.

Ceramic Boost is water-based, and moisture doesn't mix well with coatings that are curing. Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating, however, is solvent based (as is the traditional form) so no issues with layering it soon after (despite that it's not necessary).

Note, you should wait 5-7 days with either the traditional or Spray versions before washing them.

Welcome to the forum.  If you are going to do PPF then polish and have the fil applied.  Then you can coat it.

At a minimum a polish will be a good idea.  You may not need to compound.  The test spot will let you know.  You will get more gloss and the maximum performance from the coating.

Don't let high spots deter you away from a coating.  They are part of the learning curve with coatings.
