The comments about the garage from @Richand @Bigdave_185reminded me that I had not updated this thread in a while.  Activity has certainly been ongoing with the pieces slowly coming together between trips to Upstate NY, Wisconsin and multiple runs to Florida.

The walls and ceiling are all installed and primed, the lights are wired and I'm almost set to install the ceiling fans.  Son-in-law #1 and I are going to make custom trim since he has a router table.  The first picture is with all the lights on, which I do not expect to be doing very often, but there are not dark areas of the garage.  The second two picture show that I've actually started putting up some of the essential items and have started moving some of my Adam's products in.   The last picture shows the ceiling as a work in progress.

A few more nice weekends and I should have the painting done, trim up and be ready install the cabinets and such.   Then all that is left is the floors in both garages and all the accessories and tools can start moving in.  As for when the lift will go in, that is just a question of when everything else gets done.

Best to ask the painter.  If not then wait that 30-90 day time frame.

falcaineer reacted to Rich in Thank a Veteran Today
The Veterans from each war slip slowly away into history every day. I'm old enough to remember when the last living WWI  Veteran passed. Very few living WWII Veterans are left now.  My brother was a Korean War Veteran, shot and paralyzed on the beach in Korea.  Gone nearly 30 years.  And every day, more and more of the men and women who served in my war, Vietnam,  are passing into history as well.  So take today to think about all of those who said "I will do my duty to my country and serve wherever I am needed.  I will leave my family and my home and do what is asked of me".  Thank them.  Whether they put their lives on the line, or served stateside, no matter what branch of the military they served, they ALL deserve our thanks and respect.  I salute you all, and thank you, and am proud to be among you.
    God bless America!

You should be ok. As a general rule start least aggressive. Do a 1x1 test area using Polish and white foam pad, 2-3 passes, and see how it does. Move up as necessary to get the results you're after.

Well, I owned a Monterey Red Metallic C6 Corvette for over 10 years and finally decided it was time to upgrade.  I picked up a 2015 Velocity Yellow loaded C7.  The car had been owned previously by someone that looked at it as just a way to get from point A to B.  So of course, it needed a full-on detail.  Really for the last step later today of applying the Graphene Ceramic Spray.  Here are a few pictures of my C6 and now the C7.
I started with a full wash with strip wax, followed by complete claying then correction polish followed by finish polish.

falcaineer got a reaction from vollychief in How do I get this clean?
Treat it like a normal interior part of the dash, granted one that's pretty dirty. I'd use either Total Interior Cleaner or All Purpose Interior Cleaning Gel and tools like the cockpit brush, Interior Detailing Brush, and an Edgeless Utility towel. The TIC will also clean the screen if that's what you choose, the Gel will not. If there's embedded dirt between the buttons or those steps aren't quite getting the job done, which I think they will, a steamer could also be a good option, just keep it moving and wipe away the dirt. When done, dress the faceplate to match the rest of the interior.

Of course. Polishing it will degrade if not completely remove the coating so you'll need to reapply as you did before.

Yes, humidity plays a big part in performance.  The trick is to use it SPARINGLY!  A little goes a LONG way.  And use TWO towels.  I know a lot of guys have issues with streaking that shows up on darker colored cars, but if you think about it, those streaks are on light colored cars too, they're just not that noticable.  But the two DRY towels work pretty well. I'm thinking of warming the wipe off towel as I use it.  Let it sit in the sun between wipes.  Can't hurt.

Compounding and polishing will not remove orange peel.  Wet sanding will but this is not a task for someone who is starting to learn.  There are plenty of videos on new car preps.

It is a good idea to use an iron remover to ensure that there is no fallout on the paint. You can judge from there if you need to clay.  The car may be new but how long was it on the lot and also that it was in transit to the lot.

As far as compounding and polishing, do a test spot with the polish and see if the finish is what you want.  If it is then no need to compound.

I absolutely concur with Chris on this one.  He recommended getting one for my wife's vehicle and without a doubt it is the best drying towel that I've ever used.
