I agree with @Rich - your paint need not be "perfect" for whatever LSP you choose to use.  The important thing is that you're happy with the way it looks and that the surface is clean/prepped for LSP application, so it bonds properly.  Whatever you choose - Ceramic Spray, Graphene Spray, Sealant, or Wax - should enhance shine, provide some protection for the (corrected) paint, and simplify cleaning.

    Hi fellow shine lovers!

I have a 2012 Camaro that has pretty good paint, but it's not completely perfect. There is a chip here and there, small blemishes. I've completely polished all the swirls and scratches out, and it looks damn fine. Would it be worth using the ceramic spray coating on my car, or does the paint need to be 100% flawless?

    Thanks,

    Jake

That is a good looking bucket, excellent graphics.    Since I messed up my last order I wonder if the wife be nice and let me order it.   Since there is a sale, if any of you have not ordered the Adam's Plush Microfiber Applicators, I have to recommend them.  Order plenty, they will grow legs and disappear.  A light mist of Interior Detail Spray and wipe it across your Sound Bar and the dust will be gone.  Another one goes with Glass Cleaner the monitors, iPads, TV's, etc..   I started with 12 that I received last Friday, there are 6 left the wife and daughters love them.

Wheel Coating is absolutely fine for use for use on paint (I've done it, too). It's the same coating, just beefed up a bit to withstand the beating wheels take. Enjoy! And nice work.

For reference, here's a video to help with proper wash techniques.

I used the Adam’s wheel kit to coat my wheels which went well. I obviously had plenty of wheel coating left and ended up using it on the paint after some correction. Did I violate a cardinal rule of Adam’s coatings or will this be OK? Certainly appears great from what I see so far (currently curing).

The swirls/scratches were on an Xpel coating I had done a year ago so I must have introduced them with some bad washing habits (or maybe they were always under that coating I’m not sure). Only area I did was top of trunk lid where the imperfections had been bugging me. The SK Pro 15mm is a very powerful tool and worked great.

Attached are a couple after photos; I forgot to take before. You probably wouldn’t be able to spot anything anyway from these photos but you can see how amazing the gloss looks.

The trees are budding, so the wife I spent the day in the yard picking up the stuff that cam down during the winter. We have a couple of more cool nights and then we should be able to get the plants and flowers out of the garage and into their proper place.

Nice and sunny, but cool today, so we decided to take a ride to the Italian store, close to Pittsburgh.  Managed to get out of there only $80 lighter in the wallet.  But dinner tonight was sausage stromboli, pasta with basil/tomato sauce, fresh wood fired bread, and $13 worth of olives and artichokes.  As an Italian,  I have to say I enjoyed myself.  Can't move now, but I enjoyed myself.  😁

My personal vehicles are all Ceramic Coated, with either the Ceramic Coating, or Graphene Ceramic Coating. Once a year, I apply the Ceramic Spray Coating, or Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating on top of the Coating that's already on the paint surface. To prep the paint I do a Strip Wash, followed up with a Fine Grade Clay session. I look over the vehicles paint and correct any defects; scratches, scuffs, marring, etc with a polishing in those areas only. Wipe down with Surface Prep and apply the Spray Coating.

With Recochem acquiring Adam's Polishes and our blending company last year, as well as the recently announced POR-15 partnership, this provides exciting new technologies to not only expand the brand, but to develop and offer new technologies and products, and grow the international audience too since Recochem is a worldwide company. I have not discussed this with anyone yet, but I suspect that we may eventually have category tabs on the website for partner products. They're under New Products right now because they're new, and that is typically the most browsed section of the website.

Rest assured, as you said, we always strive to offer the best car care products out there. Even just last night, our chemist showed me some very cool things he is working on, but I can't discuss that quite yet!

Nickfire20 reacted to RayS in How come?
Hi Jimmy,  I have a few comments on this thread.  From the chemical compound aspect, I can tell you that Ultra Shampoo and and Oil can be cleaned up from your garage floor using kitty litter and then APC will help lift it off the concrete.   It doesn't matter if it is a 16 oz bottle of Ultra Shampoo or a quarter of Oil, it works for both.  I have taken the scientific test to ensure that the theory was correct.  As a side note, there are two really nice clean areas on my garage floor from the testing.

As for the Chrome cleaner, while I am always looking for improvements, I have to say I am absolutely satisfied with the results that I got when I cleaned up the 20 year old bike and made it shine.   It proved the point that I have been informed that I have a couple of bikes heading my way this spring to do.

This is the way many large companies have evolved.  It's part of the process of growth.  Doesn't diminish or take away from the great car care products from Adam's that we've enjoyed all these years.  It's just an expansion.  They're just putting it out there for those who might have need or want it.  Won't stop me from buying my car care products from Adam's.  They're still the best I've tried in my 74 years.

Nickfire20 reacted to Dan@Adams in Buttery Wax durability
Great questions! Buttery Wax is one of our easiest products with some great gloss and depth with little effort, but as you noted, it's not one of our most durable products. It's good for those that like to wax their vehicles more frequently without worrying too much about build-up of too many layers. As far as sitting in the garage vs getting driven in the elements, it should last longer if it's garaged frequently; however heat and sun are the main elements that will wear down Buttery Wax, so if your garage gets very hot in the summer or if the car sits outside in the sun often, you may see it degrade more quickly (also store the bottle in a room temperature area if possible).

Combining Buttery Wax with Spray Wax or Detail Spray ever few weeks is a perfect combo. It will certainly help and should let the Buttery Wax last a little longer per application. You could use a light mist of Spray Wax or Detail Spray as a drying aid each time you wash the vehicle too. One or two sprays per panel is enough when using them as a drying aid, as you're just trying to reduce water spotting and add a little bit more shine and protection without leaving any smearing or streaks.

Ceramic Liquid Wax is a newer product and almost as easy to use as Buttery Wax - they both apply very similarly, but Ceramic Liquid Wax is more of a synthetic sealant with ceramic infusion compared to more traditional waxes used in Buttery Wax. Ceramic Liquid Wax will usually last 1-3 months per application on its own from most vehicles I have used/tested it on. If you eventually decide to try out the Ceramic Liquid Wax after your Buttery Wax is used up, CS3 or Graphene Detail Spray both pair excellent with it, since they're both in the same product family 👍

Not that it matters when it comes to protection or performance, but Ceramic Liquid Wax has one of my favorite scents of all of our products, and I love how the smell stays in my garage for a few days after using it 😄
