We’ve had a reprieve from winter with back to back 50* F sunny days. Yesterday my wife’s Beast got cleaned, today my SS got its turn to be bathed. I did both the same way: 4 gallons piping hot water in a five gallon bucket with Adam’s Car shampoo adding water from the hose for cooling so I could put my hands in the bucket. I started with a rinse to get the loose crud and salt off followed by Adam’s Strip Wash in the foam gun x2 with rinses in between foaming and after foaming. I then refoamed with Adam’s Car Shampoo and used multiple MF wash mitts to clean the vehicles. After the final rinse I doused both vehicles with Ceramic Boost while drying. I have a bottle of a competitors tire stuff to use up so that’s what the tires they got. I pulled both of our drivers side Weather Tech mats and cleaned them with Adam’s Rubber Mat & Liner Cleaner then treated them with Adam’s Graphene Spray coating. I also wiped down both interiors with a damp MF towel. Of course rain and snow is in the forecast for Tuesday through Friday.

Oxidation will usually clean up easier than salt water caused deterioration.  Do a test spot with the least aggressive correction and then go up from there.

Beautiful house. I have a ranch as well. We had a row of pines that ran between our property and the next one, and one year a storm brought them down, one on top of our house. Smashed the whole backside of the house and porch.  It was -6* that day. So we had all of the pines removed, and planted a Silver Maple that my wife's uncle gave us in a coffee can.  Well, the thing is about 40' high now, and even though we have had it trimmed back, we still get one hell of a lot of leaves in the fall.  I put gutter shields on most of the house, but the back gutter and the front are odd sizes and gutter shields weren't wide enough.  You can see all the trees I clean up after every fall.  Anyhow, those look great.  Will definitely be looking into them in a few months.  Thanks Ray.

The latest update is that the garage has passed the final building inspection and I have the overhead door after 4 months of waiting.  Now I can get started on the interior with the insulation and walls.   I'm still undecided if I'm going to use a contractor for the insulation or do it myself, at least now I can get a few contractors out to take a look and give me estimates.  The insulation will be a minimum of R-10 and will be either foam board or spray in.

We also had the gutters installed which are Leafguard and the wife decided to have new gutters on the entire house at the same time.  She also had all the soffits wrapped in metal to match the trim on the garage.  I have to admit it came out looking good, although it might take a while for my wallet to recover.  Leafguard asked permission to use a garage picture in their marketing since they blended so well.  They did make it easy for me to approve the usage of the images.

At least now that I have a door I'll be able to start doing detailing in my garage instead of the wife's.

It is amazing how quickly time passes especially with the last 2 years being a blur most of us would like to forget about.  During this time the kids moved to a new house and the car spent almost a year sitting under a cover at my place.

Over the summer we got it moved to the kids new house and work has slowly been progressing with getting the engine out and rebuilt, the entire interior was removed for updating and a color swap and removal of the 300zx instrument cluster.  The wiring harness has been partially replaced and upgraded along with the suspension and brakes.  Interesting point, to upgrade the rotors and calipers, you have to use parts for a Mustang GT.

The engine went back in a few weeks ago and the wheels came in this week and were installed.  The interior is getting close to being done, just waiting on the new seats to arrive.  There is still a plenty of work left to do on it and then it will go for paint and the son-in-law is saying it will be Magma Red.

Parts have been a challenge since the son-in-law is doing it as a Nismo conversion, so there are various body parts that have been and will be replaced in additional to the mechanical side.

Here's a current picture that shows the wheels and engine and the color match being done.

This morning I woke up to a bit of a surprise.  This was the first snow that stuck to the ground since 2014 in our area. It was rather cold last night and we were under a winter storm warning for freezing rain.  We were fortune that it turned to snow instead of freezing rain.  It was pretty much all gone this afternoon except in the areas where it stays in the shade and being back in the 50's on Sunday, that will take care of the rest of it.

It was cold enough last night and will be again tonight that we'll let the pool filter run all night to ensure we don't end up with the pump freezing.

I don't like to reuse any towels on paint I use with ceramic coatings, spray or otherwise. If I do wash them, I will relegate them to dirtier jobs like engine bays or wheels, even tires by using TRC during a rinseless or waterless wash session. I also like to mark them with a sharpie in the corners with a big "X" so I know which ones they are.

Have had a new container of  Americana for a few months now. Never have used this product. Decided to give it a try while watching the game today. Put a coat on BisQuick and Goodness does this wax apply wonderfully. Did panel by panel but don't believe it would have mattered. It removed just as easily as it applied. Gave the paint alittle deeper wetter look. Think I'll do the wife's Escalade next with it. Here's a few after pics. Great winter therapy..

With stupid cold temps over here outside, it was time to get going on my summer rims. They are on my daily driver F250 so they do get a little beat over the summer months. I used Adam's metal polish with mothers power ball, and a drill. Used Adams coating prep and finished them off with Adams Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating. About an hour per rim. Came out great! Here are some before, during, and after pics.
