Hi there, and welcome to the forum! It sounds like your prep work was spot on, and goes above and beyond what most would do, so I applaud you for that.

My hunch for why you aren't seeing the proper longevity of the coating would be that it was wiped away too quickly after being applied to the surface, since you stated you allowed it to rainbow and then removed the residue. Our spray coatings will rainbow, or flash, almost immediately after hitting the surface as they are exposed to oxygen, in as little as 10 to 30 seconds sometimes; however I usually let the product set up for at least 2-3 minutes (sometimes more) before removal. Our spray coatings are more forgiving for application and removal compared to the full coating kits, so even if they stay on the surface for a few minutes, they will wipe away fairly easy.

Allowing the spray coating residue to 'tack up' for a bit, usually until the rainbow begins to fade to a more clear hazy look, will cause your towel to have a slight amount of tension to it while wiping away the coating. This will ensure that it is better bonding to the surface. I will use one of our Suede Towels to spread/smear and level the coating, removing about 50-75% of the residue, then I'll let it sit for another 30 seconds or so, and then I'll take a second clean plush towel (Borderless Gray, Edgeless Utility, or Single Soft) to remove the remaining coating residue. Using this method, and maintaining with Ceramic Boost, CS3, or Graphene Detail Spray, I usually see around 4-6 months of protection on my daily driver with our spray coatings, which is exposed to all sorts of harsh driving environments - heavy rain, high humidity and pollen during hot summers, salt/ash/snow slush, etc.

I would recommend to try re-application in a test area. I would do a wash with our standard blue Car Shampoo, rinse thoroughly, dry, and then do your IPA wipe-down (or Surface Prep). Very thoroughly shake the Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating bottle first to mix all chemicals, then spray into a Microfiber Applicator Block or onto the surface directly - I like to spray into an applicator to avoid over spray onto other areas of the vehicle - then apply and remove as described above. If applying a second coat, we recommend waiting at least 1-2 hours before applying the second coat. Joe explains the flashing and wait time at around the 4:22 mark in the video below:

Hi Brandon, I agree the way those dimensions are listed are a little confusing!

What it means by Working Area is the physical amount of space it will take up when not folded. The standing/working platform is 38" long and 12" wide, but the legs angle outward to make the overall end-to-end footprint 50" long. With the legs extended and set up, the standing/working height is 20" tall.

    Hi Troy,
I have had this happen a couple of times on my Dark Red vehicles, but have not noticed it on the light colored ones.  I have found that I reduce the chances by using two separate towels.   Using the hood as example, I'll use the Graphene Detail Spray with a light spray on the entire hood. Wipe it down with the towel, flip the towel and wipe it down again and then taking a clean separate towel go over it one more time.

I'll admit that I am not so sure that it is really the clean dry towel as much as it is going over each panel three times to make sure I didn't miss a spot.  I use the same technique with CS3, Slick and Slide, Spray Wax and a few other products and rarely, if ever do I get streaking or high spots.     Of note, Ceramic Boost is a different animal to deal with, but the same technique with a bottle of water to mist high spots or streaks helps there.

Chris and Rich already got this one, but yes absolutely shake it up very thoroughly before opening to mix it uniformly. This goes for all 3 of our graphene products - Graphene Ceramic Coating, Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating, and Graphene Detail Spray.

I will see if we can have this added to the instructions.

    Hi Troy,
Check around to see if any of the touchless wash places in your area have the rinse only option.  I remember a couple from years back that had a light wash, rinse only, but also offered the under carriage spray.  With the light wash, rinse and under carriage, you would be getting the majority of the salt and brine off the vehicle while adding minimal chemicals to it.

You might also want to check to see if any of the Pay & Spray locations offer a heated bay.  If they do, you can rinse the vehicle to get the majority of the grime off and then use Waterless Ceramic Wash, Rinseless Wash or CS3 to complete the cleanup.    The one Pay & Spray near me that offers a heated bay was $2 for 15 minutes the last time I used it.

Dan@Adams got a reaction from MatthewAMEL in Are these the same?
Hi Matthew, depending on the manufacturing dates, the 4oz and 8oz bottles of Ceramic Boost might be version 1 of the formula or version 2 (current) of the formula. The white 12oz bottle with the Ceramic Line label is absolutely version 2. Gallons and half gallons of Ceramic Boost are all version 2 as well. Version 2, the current version, began shipping out in August of 2018.

For the Ceramic Spray Coating bottles, those are the same formula, with the white 8oz bottle being a newer bottle design when we launched the full ceramic line in March of 2019. Ceramic Spray Coating was updated when we introduced the addition of the UV tracer to it in November of 2019.

Hope that clears things up 😎

Dan@Adams got a reaction from MatthewAMEL in Reuse towels with Ceramic Detail spray?
Yep, as Michael and Chris stated, you can re-use towels with Graphene Detail Spray without issue, as long as you wash and maintain the towels properly.

A little more in-depth for anyone curious...

Products that we DO NOT recommend re-using towels or applicators after application:
    - Ceramic Paint Coating 50ml
    - Ceramic Wheel Coating 50ml
    - Ceramic Black Trim Restorer 50ml
    - Graphene Ceramic Coating 60ml

The coatings above can and will harden into the towels and applicators, and you will be able to feel them become more coarse. They can absolutely scratch vehicles if you attempt to re-use them on paint. Once my suede towel/single soft/borderless gray/edgeless utility towel is used to remove one of the ceramic coatings above, I downgrade the towel to cleaning my garage floor, wiping up spills, etc. If you are very careful and fold the towels into fourths and only use certain sides, you MAY be able to use any unused "sides" of the towel on a second vehicle, but you always risk the chance of a hardened folded edge contacting the vehicle and scratching it, so it's usually not worth saving the $5-$10 or so to me to risk damaging a vehicle.

With our Ceramic Spray Coating, UV Ceramic Spray Coating, Ceramic Coating Wax, and Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating, I have not had issue re-using towels and applicators, provided that I soak them for a few hours after use in some Microfiber Revitalizer or Towel & Pad Revitalizer mixed into a bucket of water, and then wash them properly (as in how Chris linked the article above). The spray coatings do not seem to harden and crystallize into the towels and applicators as easily as the glass bottle coatings above.

Lastly, our Sio2 and graphene-oxide infused products are safe to re-use towels as well, but the towels can eventually become hydrophobic and repel liquids as Michael mentioned. These products include:
    - Ceramic Boost
    - Ceramic Liquid Wax
    - Ceramic Waterless
    - CS3
    - Graphene Detail Spray

I hope that clears things up and makes it a little easier to understand

Wash them and reuse them.  There is not enough to harden within the towel.  They will more than likely become hydrophobic over time.

Hi @William A Posada Jr, welcome to the forum! I'm going to move this thread into the appropriate section so that it gets more views and input.

Several of our products can be used safely on vinyl wraps! I'll make all of the products listed below into clickable links, so that it will take you right to the product page with more information for each one.

If you have a matte or satin finish wrap on your vehicle, our blue Car Shampoo, Mega Foam Shampoo, Waterless Wash, Rinseless Wash, and Matte Detailer are all safe for cleaning.
If you have a gloss finish wrap on your vehicle, the list of safe washing products grows more: Car Shampoo, Mega Foam Shampoo, Wash & Wax, Ultra Foam Shampoo, Wash + Coat, CS3, Waterless Wash, Rinseless Wash, and Ceramic Waterless are all great options.

For protection, I would recommend our Ceramic Spray Coating or Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating. They are both very easy to apply and remove, and will provide several months of protection or more. On gloss vinyl they will add more shine and depth, but on matte vinyl they will not alter the appearance as long as they are wiped away properly.

I know that is a lot of products listed, so if you are looking for a simplified list, the ones I use most now would be Mega Foam for bucket washes or a Foam Cannon setup with a pressure washer and Waterless Wash if I'm looking to remove a small amount of light dirt or dust. I use a lot of Rinseless Wash too - it's a concentrate that must be diluted down, either into a bucket or a spray bottle - you can make 16 spray bottles (16oz) with one 16oz bottle of Rinseless Wash, so it's a very cost effective option!

Let us know if you have any other questions

To add to what Chris said, you could certainly put a layer of Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating on top of your existing coating to sort of refresh and re-up the coating; however, you will want to do a very thorough wash and Surface Prep at a minimum before applying the Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating. It's also important to note that it will not last as long on the surface since it is trying to bond to an already cured layer of ceramic coating, rather than bare clear coat. You could then maintain with Graphene Detail Spray.

To reduce some of the confusion, here are some general combinations for maintenance-type products. Keep in mind that these are not concrete, and you can try out different maintenance products to see which you like best!
Graphene Ceramic Coating and Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating will be best maintained with Graphene Detail Spray, since they're all in the graphene oxide family of products, but you can use SiO2 maintenance products like CS3 and Ceramic Boost as well with no issue. UV Ceramic Paint Coating, UV Ceramic Wheel Coating, UV Ceramic Spray Coating, Ceramic Coating Wax, and Ceramic Spray Coating will be best maintained with SiO2-based products since they're all in the SiO2 family of products. These would include CS3, Ceramic Boost, Ceramic Waterless, Ceramic Liquid Wax, Rinse + Coat, etc. Using Graphene Detail Spray would be fine as well. Paint Sealant, a synthetic sealant would be best paired with H2O Guard & Gloss, another product in the sealant family, but you could use Graphene Detail Spray and SiO2-based products too. Waxes like Americana Paste Wax, Buttery Wax, and Patriot Wax would pair best with Spray Wax or Detail Spray.  Then there are a few wildcards like Detail Spray, Slick & Slide, and Waterless Wash. Detail Spray and Slick & Slide have small amounts of polymer protection and can be paired with any of the above with nice results. For Detail Spray, keep in mind that while it will not hurt coatings, it's not necessarily the best product to use on them, and may slightly alter some of the hydrophobic behavior of coatings. Waterless Wash works excellent on any of the above as well.

    Hey everyone!

We just wrapped up another great event with Barrett-Jackson at WestWorld in Scottsdale, AZ! This was the first auction back after the Northeast, West Palm, and Las Vegas auctions were all cancelled earlier this year due to Covid-19 restrictions. The event went very well, with restrictions in place that it was not open to the public, only bidders, consignors, sponsors, and exhibitors. UV lighting and hand cleaning stations were plentiful, everyone entering the premises had a temperature check, and masks were 100% required by everyone in attendance.

I wanted to share some pictures I took throughout the event - some cool cars, some vehicles I helped to detail, and so on.
