Back on topic, yet another surprising subtraction from the lineup...interesting to say the least.

I'm using them right now to clean up the dirty parts of my boat trailer. Use them for engine bays, door and truck jambs, wheels etc. I would keep a pack I promise you will use them.

1 oz of APC per gallon of water. So usually 3...
Like Mook says, if the LSP is quality and in tact, strip washing alone won't touch it. And that's a good thing...
Claying or an IPA wipe down will finish it off.

In a foam gun it's 32 oz of water, 3 oz APC and 3 oz soap.

I would think the great white is the same.

Note I have not been told these weights by Adams but I buy the exact same towels from another manufacturer who posts the towel weights and blends on their site.

camaro2ssblack got a reaction from THE Mook in No Valentine Day's special this year?
Some of you need to get a grip on reality. There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking a manufacturer if they intend to have a sale on a holiday. It doesn't imply anything other than a simple request for information. If Adams doesn't plan on having a sale, so be it. If they do, then great. It doesn't make the OP greedy or unappreciative in any sense whatsoever. Nick kindly answered the OP and the thread should have been nothing but positive - full of posts about what everyone is planning to buy. No need for the morality forum police IMO.

Now I'll shut up so we can get back on track.

A coating would be your best option but even then you will just be scratching the coating instead. Your best bet is never touch your paint with anything but high quality wash media and mf towels. Two layers of sealant with proper cure time and maybe a coat of wax would be the second best option. Neither will prevent some visible scratching over time. Keeping a black car scratch free is impossible, don't even pursue it...

Yes the rinseless wash diluted to 1:36 is a great clay lube. Claying with $50 per gallon detail spray is borderline insane IMHO. Get a 36 oz spray bottle, add an ounce of rinseless wash and fill the rest with water...

    I'll ask two questions:

Did you do a test spot?
How long did the polishing process take you?

I'm willing to bet the answer to the first question is no. The purpose of the second question is to make sure you fully worked the polishes and didn't just "spread them".

camaro2ssblack got a reaction from Chuckkilo3 in Daily Driver Headlight Restoration
I've finally decided to detail my daily driver - a 2001 Camry that I've had since day one with nearly 200,000 miles on it. It's never been properly detailed in its life. The outside is washed a few times a year and the interior is kept decent but it's never been seriously cleaned, clayed, polished or waxed. The paint feels like sand paper so I definitely have my work cut out for me. Today I decided to tackle the headlights which were severely oxidized and neglected.

    Products and process:

    - Cleaned with apc and a mf towel
    - Taped up and clayed.
    - Wet sanded with 800 grit, then 1000 grit, then 2000 grit and a sanding block
    - Polished with a compound on a 3" wool pad and a cordless drill
    - Sealed with a sealant for now as I plan on coating the car after I complete the entire detail over the next several weeks.

I think they turned out great and I'm sure the visibility at night will be drastically improved.

For those that are worried about scratches and swirls, the flat out honest truth is yes a rinseless wash process may add a few swirls even if the technique is sound and proper materials are used. But it won't do any more damage than a conventional two bucket wash given both are done correctly. Everytime you touch your car your adding some type of imperfection whether it be washing, drying, or buffing off wax. All we can do is use the best possible technique and quality products to limit the damage and be prepared for an annual light polish to fix any defects you have accumulated over the past year. I see this on my garage queen each season when I do a full detail. One year I did nothing but super careful two bucket washes, and I still had a few swirls to remove at the end of the year. The next year rinseless became popular and I did mostly rinseless washes, and I had the same few swirls at the end of the year.
Pick the proper wash method based on how dirty your car is and focus on using good technique for every wash, and that's the best you can do. If it was possible to keep a paint job clear of any defects, the detailing business would go broke...

camaro2ssblack got a reaction from Performance Auto Detailing in waterless wash . . . different towels?
I understand a waffle weave is the recommended towel by Adams but that's not what the OP asked. The answer he was looking for is that it's perfectly acceptable to use a plush towel for a waterless wash. In fact, I can't think of a single other waterless wash manufacturer who specifically recommends a waffle weave style towel. It's fairly common knowledge that waffle weave is best suited for drying purposes and is not the best "nap" to safely remove dirt from the paint. That being said, either option will work just fine. I wanted the OP to know he didn't have to buy a bunch of expensive towels when he already has the tools needed to do the job.
