goheels got a reaction from Beemer in Ran out of detail spray! Any alternative to spritz on pads?
Respectfully disagree with this advice. If you just keep smearing polish you will clog the pours of the pad rendering them useless (as well as increase chances of dusting). Often times you can use a shot of detail spray to reactivate the existing polish on the pad between section passes.

Be sure to clay before sealing your paint if needed (use baggy test to determine if contaminants are heavy on paint).

goheels got a reaction from Team Adam's in Green Wheel Cleaner
I'm with Dylan on this one. I've been trying to just use the rest of my stock up, because the wash shampoo does a fine job in cleaning (and maintaining protection) with my sealed wheels. IMHO, GWC isn't really strong enough to do much medium to heavy cleaning.

goheels got a reaction from AusTroy in What made you choose Adam's products?
Older Junkman vids on a car forum introduced me to the world of detailing (especially by machine) and Adams's products.

Pleasant surprise at the dealership this morning when I brought my car to get an oil change and general servicing. I had pre-printed one of those Adam's "Do not Wash" decals to hang from the mirror, thinking that telling the service manager wouldn't be enough. He tells me, "One step ahead of you" as, to my surprise, he whips out a large "No Wash" red placard and places it on my dashboard. Really was a nice touch...

Wow, I feel like such a small-timer.
It takes me years to go through a 16 oz bottle of polish or sealant

goheels got a reaction from hockeybawler in Glaze before seal thoughts?
I would think that the best way to apply sealant would be to bare paint, so I'm not sure I would want a glaze underneath personally. (I don't use glaze at all.)
However, I certainly understand the logic used by hockyballer above.

I get that people like doing it by hand, but you simply can't get the same results as a machine. The wear/tear on your body is a big negative as well.
Ever since using a PC, there is no way that I would ever go back.

goheels got a reaction from JHL88 in Clay Bar Lubrication
Absolutely. Too many cheap alternatives out there in concentrates that do a great job to ever consider using DS a clay lube, and I never have to worry about being too stingy with using it when claying. DS as a clay lube is a waste of product and money, IMHO.

Time to re-think that 110% guarantee. One claim and it would put Adam's out of business

Hi all,
I know, I know... another "Adam's Customer Service Rocks" thread
After contacting Adams about a replacement backing plate, Matt Butcher had another sent out the same day with no hassle whatsoever. I had a concern about how to finish my detailing session with my machine polishes on hand without the use of my polisher, and Dylan responded to my thread immediately as well as giving me advice on what the next best steps for me would be to complete the detail.
Adam, you and your staff are simply remarkable. While I had been hesitant about pricing when I started using Adams products years ago, the quality and support is simply stellar. There is nothing like the piece of mind knowing that if a product fails even years later, that you aren't dangling in the wind.
Again, I'm not into these "rah rah" type threads... but you all should be commended. Thank you so much for all the support and advice over the years.

Looks fantastic. I could never get in he detailing biz, knowing that they will destroy all that hard work as soon as it gets out of the shop. While I know you get paid regardless, it would be difficult for me to know that those results won't last long... But I guess I'm just pessimistic

People still hand polish?
Best advice to give you, wait until you have the funds. IMHO, the results you get with the amount of time/effort it takes by hand isn't worth it. There are plenty of machines out there (e.g., PC, cyclo) that are incredibly safe to use and do a fantastic job. Wait!

Agreed about the jumbo pads... too big and awkward to use. Big fan of the 9X9s.

goheels reacted to Bunky in Absolute perfection?
You can make almost any paint look great in photos. The image manipulations (sharpness, saturation, vibrance, etc) are endless to enhance the look.
You would have to see them up close. A 90-95% corrected car will usually looking stunning almost any condition. Unless you are doing a car show, polishing to perfection (especially more than once) can be just wasting removing paint unnecessarily.
