mc2hill got a reaction from Team Adam's in Black Paint Products
I had a friend at work that tried the black box stuff about the same time I got my PC and did my first machine correction. He made of point of parking his black Grand Cherokee beside my black Frontier for a few months. Then the black box stuff wore off, but my truck was still shiny, as it has been POLISHED. I started making a point to park next to him then. He usually moved at lunch time!

Fished at lunchtime, 4 largemouth on small plastics. I've been fishing either at sunrise for a couple hours or at lunchtime for 45 minutes to an hour. Closing in on 300 for the young season.
Vehicles have had occasional baths but are looking great. We lost an ash tree to emerald ash borer, now no more driveway shade.
Finally, 16 years ago today the most beautiful woman I have ever known walked down the aisle and became my wife. What she sees in me is a mystery to all but her so I treat her like a princess and thank God for her everyday.

+1.
IIRC, Adam did say that. While not questioning the Detailer-in-Chief, I'm old school and will probably always put the Sealant on first.

Check this thread out. The peanut butter trick absolutely worked wonders for me.

Spray with APC, throw them in a bucket of water, put a Grit Guard on top, spin on the lid and leave them for a few hours to a few days. Rinse them out, respray with APC (if needed) and use the Grit Guard as a wash board to remove any left over polish. Rinse until the water is clean.

I do mine outside, but not in the sun. Find shade, or wait for overcast days, or do it early in the AM or later in the day when the sun is not at its peak. Wash the car and then do the entire clay-polish-seal/wax process to one panel at a time. I explain in more detail in this topic: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/26295-its-springdamn/?do=findComment&comment=415385
One other suggestion would be to keep a spray bottle full of cold distilled water on hand and use it (and a clean waffle weave towel) to cool down your panels in between steps as you work

I have been using Quickbooks/Intuit for a few years. It has it's pluses and minuses. I recently moved our website from Homestead (Intuit platform) to Big Commerce. I am not good with computers and was able to build the site myself and manage it myself. My Big Commerce store is a lot easier to manage, offers a lot more options, including sales, banners, etc. My internet business has expanded because of it.

I have also moved from Intuit Merchant Services to Cashier Live for my POS @ shows/clinics. I use a Linea Pro on my iPhone and it works amazing! They are the same scanners/CC swipers used @ the Apple Store. I have barcoded all my inventory and can teach someone to run the system in under a half hour. The system is very easy to use and works! I used to use a Mophie and before that had a Square. In my opinion, Square is a POS and has left me stranded at multiple Carlisle events. That was 4 years ago, there are more options today.

Nice turnaround Fred! And I agree, the new polishes are a improvement over the older version.

mc2hill reacted to simplife in Storage Totes / Containers for Gallon Jugs
Here is proof that 4 gallon containers will fit in a standard size milk crate (12" X 12") with room for a 16 oz. spray bottle in the middle. Obviously you cannot stack with pump attachment. The tops of the jugs are just below the top edge of the crate, so you should be able to stack crates as shown.

That makes sense. Lots of lubrication in the wash process, and very little in the drying process. The moral of the story is to buy and use more DS!!

Welcome Aaron!
I have had good luck using a halogen work light. Two 500 bulbs work fine, but they get hot! Turning off all the other light sources works the best, but is not always practical.
Using tape to create an 'end' line can help show the contrast between the corrected and not corrected side.

mc2hill reacted to Gen9Rolla in A few questions about procedures.
1. If you can't use a dedicated microfiber cleaner then all purpose cleaner would work fine. Although I can't imagine all purpose cleaner being ok to use with a system that can't have microfiber cleaner in it, but I'm no septic tank expert. If you have a grit guard or similar item, then fill a bucket with water and all purpose cleaner and just scrub your towels against the grit guard in the water. You might find it helpful to let the towels soak in this mixture for a little while before you attempt to clean them to help loosen up the dirt on them.
2. Yes
3. I don't know if there is a specific limit, but when kept at room temperature it should last a long time. I have a few waxes going on three years now that still look and perform brand new.
4. Your procedure would work fine.
Hope that all helps!

mc2hill reacted to GerryC in Newbie with ultimate shine quest
You would use QS in place of, or before, wax, especially if your car is a daily driver. Additionally, QS is great for protecting wheels, exhaust, etc. since it can withstand high heat.
Correct -> Polish -> Seal -> Glaze -> Wax
You don't have to use each step (for instance, glaze or sealant can be omitted) just don't jumble them up.
