I follow Adam's example (I'm new to this, so following I figure following a master's example is good enough for me!) and use a few globs, as well as a couple sprays of DS for some lubrication. I then place the pad on the car, spread it around so it doesn't sling, and go to work. Adding too much product to the pad can clog it up, causing loss of cutting/polishing power. I keep either a pad brush or extra pads on hand.

Do it. I won't give up my sidekick even though I have a MBR. The sidekick is the perfect interior blower. Use it all the time. I'll also use it if I just want to dry some wheels or whatever. Endless uses. Both machines have a place in the shop.

I am pulling the trigger for the MV Side Kick too! I think it will be a great addition to the arsenal.

Hooked up Pop's Jeep with some Trim Coating on the running boards. They were pretty chalky and the TC did a pretty decent job darkening them up.

The new SS came with all boxes checked and only two pedals for me to enjoy. The only options are full size spare and sunroof, got 'em both. The dealer respected my wishes and did nothing to the vehicle but take out transport blocks on the front springs. I just could not pass up the 20% off GM is offering on the SS until March 13.

After I got home and grabbed a quick bite I rinseless washed it after presoaking then rinsing it twice using my pressure washer. I then gently dried her off and set to claying the vehicle. I used Adams clay and Detail Spray. The paint was in remarkable condition but will get corrected come spring. For now it got a coat of Quick Sealant on the paint and a competitors glass coating on all windows. Tomorrow the wheels are getting pulled off, cleaned, coated and remounted. This week I will also get a set of winter tires and wheels for her.

Thank you all for the comments and questions. Now for an adult beverage and some rest.

Nice ride! What all options did you get? And does it have two or three pedals?

Got all my Adam's stuff together and organized. Whew!  Got my order for the Chocolate Mint Detail spray and now my garages smells like a candy shop. Also got the wall hanger for the Adam's Foam Gun. Little over priced for stamped metal....but!

Junior reacted to Focus_Red in Glass cleaning
I've mentioned in other threads that one of my pet peeves is having dirty glass. I want my glass completely invisible, so while my process may be a bit on the obsessive side, it keeps the glass clean 100% of the time.

Starting from a very dirty glass (especially with hard water spots/streaks) I first will use Adam's aerosol glass cleaner and one of their green glass towels with the microfiber side down on the glass. The aerosol is stronger than the regular spray and cuts a lot of the stubborn dirt and grime (with help from the green glass towel). Next, I'll come back with the detail spray (or regular glass cleaner) and clay bar the glass. This gets any "bonded" crap off the glass (tar, sap, extremely stubborn hard water spots, etc.) It also preps the glass for Adam's glass sealant (which I can't recommend enough! It's amazing). Once clay barred, I'll wipe off any excess spray, and proceed to apply the sealant then glass boost. I like to use fresh towels for each step. This ensures I don't get any streaks. Also, the blue glass towel is perfect for removing stubborn streaks left from any product.

For the interior of the windshield (and any other interior glass you feel like treating) I highly recommend the Brilliant Glaze trick. First I clean the inside of the glass with the regular glass cleaner (the aerosol tends to splatter too much and I usually don't need the extra strength on the interior glass) I then apply the Brilliant Glaze to the inside of the glass, let it haze, and then remove it. This ensures no haze builds up on the interior of the glass.

Boom! You have invisible glass. Upkeep is minimal at this point. A quick wipe-down with the regular glass cleaner and green towel removes most everything if maintained regularly (which for me is when ever there's dirt on the glass) and a freshening of the glass boost when ever the hydrophobic properties of the glass sealant seems to be wearing off.

Junior got a reaction from Rich in The magic of APC on Bird Sh$&
Washed a customers truck today and even after extreme soaking of bird bombs using RW, a few of them just refused to come off the paint. Actually many more than a few. I'd say the Rinseless and hose pressure rinse off probably got only half of them. These were the bird bombs with the berry seeds so it has tiny particles of grit. And those damn things stick like friggin magnets to the paint. Enter APC diluted 1:1. Problem solved!!! After the presoak with RW and the full wash using a foam gun, the remaining offenders were treated with a few blasts of the APC and then after about 15-20 seconds, I was able to use the wash mitt to gently escort them off the paint. I,felt like saying Haste la vista mofos, you're TERMINATED! It's amazing how effective this method is. I've never used it before because I typically have been able to dispose of them using Rinseless. APC works like magic for these types of bird bombs. Just thought I'd share this as it seems bird bomb season is upon many of us.

Hi Jamey, you could go back over the trim areas with Ceramic Boost, but I think you'll find that it's not necessary. We have test vehicles that have had Trim Coating on them for over 1 year now and they still look just as good as the first day it was applied. It's a very robust product that can't really be removed once it's applied, unlike our Paint Coating and Wheel Coating which can be machine polished off.

Wow, that's a bummer to hear! I loved that orange detailing tape that we had several years because it was low tack but I could re-use it two or three times before throwing a piece away.

I've used it on dozens of vehicles, some that were 15+ years old, and remove it slowly with no issues. I'm surprised it pulled paint off. Do you have any pictures of the affected area? Was it perhaps right at the edge of a plastic area? Was it only clear coat that it removed or base color coat as well?

Man I'm really sorry about that

You can also 'burn' 'burning' the tape.  Take the tape you are going to use and tape it to your shirt...this will pick up some lint and make the tape less sticky and easier to remove.  Also always remove it slowly and while pulling at an angle.

    Sorry to hear this happened.

So I decided to detail the door jambs on my 1997 Ford Explorer. Broke out the Mini and PCP and orange pad along with BG and LPS. It made a HUGE difference. However, in removing the detail tape, paint got removed in a couple of spots. I guess when dealing with 20 year old paint, you really need the be careful using tape. Just wanted to make folks aware.

I reapply sealant/wax often so the longest I had H20 GG on was for 3 months. It did bead like I had just put it on. I actually like it better then LPS for use on our Wrangler. It is easy to apply and I can use it on the plastic fenders as well. I had the entire Jeep done in 10-15 min. It has become my new favorite Adams product.

It'll work fine for any color paint. Most of the correcting has to do with pads and polishes/compounds more so than machine. The Rupes will turn a little faster, but that higher speed is seldom used. And even if it were, the SK would work fine...you just might have to take an extra pass or two.

If you're not using your tools all the time, the SK is more than adequate. Even if you are, I'm sure they'll hold up fine. Not to mention they're not much more than half the cost of a Rupes. I love my Rupes, but could have saved big money had these been out when I purchased.

I just finished watching the video for using the Brilliant Glaze to remove haze from the inside of your windshield.

Great idea and tip for 2 of my 3 vehicles, the question I have is for my Camaro with the Heads Up Display (HUD).  I know the windshield for HUD cars is different in some way from regular Camaro's and I'm wondering if the glaze will cause any issues with the display?

Has anyone tried this yet or should we wait for someone from the Adam's team to give an opinion.

    Thanks

    Greg
