I typically hose mine off to get the loose dust off,  hit them with compressed air to dry,  apply the cleaner, let sit for about 20 seconds, agitate, let sit a little longer to let it work, then rinse.  

when you go to trade in your model year 2007 with 115K miles and the guy asks you if it a 2012 or 2013 model and think you are kidding until you show him the registration and odometer.. 

I am not sure but that is a pretty engine.  :)

my brembo's dust like crazy so if I go longer than a week between washes I have to.  If I do a weekly wash then a simple "soap and water" is fine.

In short it depends on the condition that the paint is currently in.  At a minimum I would recommend the detail spray, either of the sealants (I have only tried the quick sealant but have heard amazing things about the new one), and some americana wax (the small tub is on sale so a great bargain).  For a little extra pop the brilliant glaze is great.  I have a black car that I use as a DD and that BG just gives it a little something extra for the 15 minutes that it is clean.    If the paint is swirled and needs to be corrected their 2 step polishes are great and very easy to use.
 
Oh and I almost forgot but the VRT for the tires, a must have.

I do this so I would say that it is not taking it to far. 

I actually bought a pump sprayer and keep about 1/2 a gallon diluted in there for use as a presoak/waterless.  Seems to work well so far (only used 2x) and much easier on my hands than using the pull trigger countless times. 

I had to experiment with it in a few different ways as I have quite a few different materials on my inside.  For certain ones it works better to spray directly on the surface, some better on the towel. Some require just one pass for perfection, some I have to "work" a little more for that perfect look.  At the end of the day I really like the scent as well as the very matte finish that it leaves and just slightly darker than before but it does behave differently based on the material.  

used the rinse less for the first time today along with the new blue towels.  Very nice results.  Car had a week worth of DD dirt on it and it cleaned up very nice.  I used 2 buckets (one with solution one for rinse) with 2 towels.  Worked great.  Will continue to do this over the winter months, much nicer washing in the garage vs the cold.  

I typically cover the vehicle equally with an extra coat on the hood, roof, front bumper.  

I use different towels for different things.  The new blue ones will be dedicated to rinse less wash only.  Easy to keep track of and helps my OCD out... ha 

Nice,  we have one left in our guest bedroom simply for the fact that I don't want to drop $200 on a flat panel that would get used 2-3x/year when I can spend that $$ on Adams or other car mods.

Took the nicer weather today to do a little side by side of Adam's DWC vs the other lime green wheel cleaner that is quite popular.  The goal was to determine which one I would keep using by the gallon on my ever dusty SRT wheels.    
 
Short story --- Adam's hands down.  With no agitation it removed about 50% more brake dust than the other brand and about 80% of the total dust.  a quick agitation with a brush got them looking new.
