My little detailing squad grew by one. Our 2 1/2 year old, Michael, became a big brother today!

Our little Micah joined us at 3:48pm today weighing in at 6lbs 2oz and was 17.75 inches long.

Mom is doing great and recovering from the C-Section. Baby is spending the night in the NICU for observation due to some lung stuff... otherwise a happy and healthy baby boy!

The contests, sales, announcements section i believe is set up to be for members of this forum.  They often run different sales/contests some are universal, some forum only, some Facebook/Instagram only.  I have received emails about the mystery box before from email subscription but not every time they do the mystery box do they send an email.  They likely do it like that to give people an incentive to be a part of the forum, social media, etc

All of you have been wondering where the Shine Doc has been.  Well he has accepted a new opportunity and will unfortunately be leaving Adams.

It's going to be hard to not see Dylan around here sharing his knowledge or sporting the Adams brand.  He exposed us all to a wide array of great products.  I mean who can forget about Soap Soap.

Seeing him come back home to Adams was a great thing.  It was a real pleasure seeing the new comers come to the forum and have him as a voice to answer questions.  His knowledge will be missed.

His detailing buddies would like to send him off and wish him the best on his next adventure.  Be on the look out where he lands next.

The next Shine Doc has a some big shoes to fill or is it a bigfoot.

    Best of luck Dylan.

Essentials kit is a pretty good place to start or at least use as a starting point for general categories of what to look for. Though none of their products will likely disappoint you

CTFocusST reacted to Team Adam's in What Is Vibration and Why Does It Matter?
An excellent post from another forum I felt compelled to share. For those who have been around the detailing world for awhile you probably know Todd from his forum writeups. He is an exceptionally talented detailer who has worked for a variety of companies, including running his own very high end detailing business in Florida. He is a pilar in the detialing community and a wealth of knowledge.

I'm proud to say I've known Todd for awhile now and would consider him a good friend depsite the fact we have regularly found ourselves working for competing brands. Most recently hes taken a positioin with Rupes so I'm excited to finally say we're on the same side of the 'line'.

This post he recently made covers a topic that has gone overlooked with the introduction of other large throw machines that mimic the design of the Rupes. I'd further this point by saying we invested significant development time and research to the Gen5 Pad System to minimize vibration. Each pads mass was adjusted to as closely match the tools (Rupes as well as others) to minimize vibration as much as possible.

Take a moment to read Todd's post below. More and more, as knock-offs enter the marketplace it becomes important to understand that the innovators, and those that bring technology to market do so with lots of research. The copies that follow may look the same, but there are subtlties that make a huge difference, so as comparisons between tools abound remember as he says below - "this amount of engineering cannot be copied with sight and calipers"

CTFocusST reacted to landshark in How to photograph your car
I too disagree on the polarizer.  At least it's not a must have tool that you use every time shooting a car.  I started out as a landscape photographer, so I'm sensitive with the "right" light.  And it helps to translate on car photo too.  As other had mentioned, shoot near sunset, not have to be golden hour (the hour before sunset) or the blue hour (the hour after sunset), but the closer to the sunset time, the better in general.

And I generally like to photograph with the sunlight directly hits the car.  Like I'm in between the car & the sun.  In most case, it will give the best look of the paint/color of the car.  Of course given the paint is in good shape to start with.  You don't want to show all the swirl marks with the sunlight hitting it!  But pay attention of your own shadow tho!  You don't want to included that in the shots.  Also pay attention of the reflection on the car.  Like how the clouds show on the hood, it make a good show case photos too.

Here's a few example that I did after I finished detailing the client's ride.  I work in my home garage, so I don't have a good background in my neighborhood for a clean background shots.  But I'm not out shooting dedicated photoshoot neither.  Just to show case my detailing work.

If you've notice, most of my shots have the sunlight directly onto the car to better show off the color and to give the car a warm glow.  And yes, don't forget you don't have to shoot the whole car, sometimes some close up detailed shots work even better too.

p.s. sorry if I uploaded too many photos.
