Here's a recommendation.  Set up a preorder for the Cars & Coffee by the gallon and once there is enough to justify the batch make it.   If the volume of orders greatly exceeds the minimum batch size for gallon sales, which I suspect it will, that is a win for Adam's and those of us that like it.

A person new to machine polishing should absolutely understand there are steps. Adam's sells a 1 step polish. You could use the compound without the polish after wards, but it's meant to be a 2 part system.  An experienced detailer could probably get a pretty nice finish with just the compound using the right pad and proper technique. A 1st timer wouldn't be able to do the same.  I detail professionally and anyone who asks about paint correction I explain the difference between a 1,2 & 3 step.  I'll never recommend a 1 step with just a compound over a AIO or one step polish. And any noob who just uses the Compound, yeah they might even be really happy with the results. But they'll really be missing out on what the finish could look like if they had did a 2 step. Learning proper technique is vital, so understanding the 3 potential steps is going to be where everyone should start.   I have the exact opposite opinion on what I bolded, what we don't need is a person who's never polished just buying the compound and a few blue pads and thinking they're good to go. What you said is exactly the 1st thing anyone should learn about machine polishing. You need to understand the different liquids, different pads and different steps.

I have 6 different types of pads
Foam - coarse, medium, soft finishing
    wool
    MF-hybrid, and a MF-hybrid finishing pad.
And I have a boat load of different compounds and polishes.

While I wouldn't overwhelm some one looking to get into paint correction with everything I have. Definitely at least the 2 main steps and the difference between a cutting and a finishing pad.

Yeah, I won't be using their prep in it's current size. I'm an eco conscious detailer and with 4 or 8oz bottles, I'd be littering the earth with empties. I understands Adam's doesn't target pros, but they do offer things like Interior Detailer in a 5 gallon jug. Which would last even an extreme enthusiasts a decade lol.

Back to your original question, I have asking for this for over a year.  Since it only comes in the small bottles I purchase prep spray in 1 liter or 1 gallon sizes from other vendors.

Gonna be trying the new UV coating kit soon, I detail cars on the side and am curious if there might ever be a bigger bottle of surface prep available. If the durability claims hold up this would be a phenomenal coating for detailers to offer their customers.

I know Adam's market is the enthusiasts, but I detail for a living and use a decent number of Adam's products. Your new UV Coating looks to be pretty fantastic. One thing IMHO that's missing for people like me though. Something like a tri-fold brochure that breaks down the product and what it does.  The 2 other coatings I mostly used were prosumer and both companies sold 10 packs of pamphlets. They were great to give to potential customers, they looked professional and explained the product. Even making a PDF that we could print would be awesome. Being an enthusiasts based company there are a lot of Adams products that fit in perfectly with a pro detailer. Especially with the gallon and 5 gallon sizes of things. I would typically buy like a dozen 10 packs of brochures and leave them at stores in my area with my contact info on an attached label.

This is probably a long shot, but I thought I might as well ask. If there's no interest, would there be any issue with me using some of the pictures off the UV coating section of the web site and making my own?

Damn I didn't even think of that, yeah that would be a perfect way to show a customer what I did. As it won't be cured until long after I'm gone I couldn't do a proper water beading test while I was still around.

That purple is an upselling point to get customers of mine to pay to have their wheels done. They might have at best a vague idea what I'm talking about when I explain iron deposits. But I tell them it'll turn purple, and then they see it turn purple they throw cash at me.  As I said the new wheel and tire cleaner would be awesome for most people. Heck a lot of people just use whatever cheap-o Walmart car soap they buy. So it would be a big step up for them.  Actually now thinking about what you said about scenarios, this is cheaper than the Eco Wheel cleaner, and probably a perfect maintenance product for wheels.

So I guess I gotta order the gallon with the free 16oz *sigh*

Saw the bug remover & wheel and tire cleaner, and it's damn sad something as simple as a new bottle can get me riled up. My OCD won't like seeing different bottles (heaven forbid) in my detailing cabinet.  Are these bottles different because of the chemical that's in them, or will they be coming to the rest of the products?  When you change your labels some years back, I had to re-order 6 almost full bottles to get the new labels because my OCD was in high gear. I'm wondering if I'll have to do the same thing here - not complaining, just curious.

I dunno, I see pics of detailers in other states where the front grill will be covered with bug guts. So Cal I can't explain it, but there isn't a bug problem. I detailed a big F350 work truck with a huge grill, hadn't been washed in months and I didn't see bug remains in the grill or around the bottom panels *SHRUG*  As for your buy 1 product that does 2 things. Haven't read any reviews of it.  But both Wheel Cleaner & Tire & Rubber Cleaner cost more. I can't imagine Adam's would cannibal their sales with a better product that's cheaper. I could be wrong, but to me this is a middle ground product for people who don't want to use 2 products, so long as it works good enough. I'm not knocking the new product, I'll probably even buy a bottle to try it. But I just don't see it being as good as what I have.

quebert got a reaction from SgtLip in When did Adam's have 16 oz bottles of compound and polish?
To bump an old thread, YES! I understand Adam's pushes themselves as a weekend warrior, enthusiast brand. Which would have a much different need than someone who details for a living. But you can buy a 5 gallon size of many things. For a weekend warrior 5 gallons of interior detailer would last almost forever.  And 5 gallons of glass cleaner? If I washed my car once a week, I would be dead before I could use it all lol. 5 gallons of Rinseless would mix up enough for me to wash about 500 cars. IMHO that's beyond enthusiast numbers for all but a really rare few. I'm not knocking Adams, but a lot of the 5 gallon offerings clearly aren't for the weekend warriors.  I noticed they have a pro section on the store with 32oz of the polishes and compounds.  And on the same page it says for pros to contact them to unlock custom pricing, which I'm guessing will be different than the price that's already there. I'm curious about this, as I like Adam's products and use a bunch of them. But almost $80 for 32oz of heavy correcting compound's absolutely crazy.  I'm wondering about the unlocked pricing, I'm guessing you have to buy a large quantity of bottles.

I don't totally follow how they decide on their pricing. Their wheel cleaner's awesome and the gallon's cheap compared to the other brands I use to use by about $30-40.  Their Rinseless wash is damn good and 1/2 the price of the brand I used before it. And a lot of their other stuff's priced in line with the competition. But some of their stuff, especially their polishes and compounds are just too expensive. I would be all over the 32oz bottles if they were a good $25 cheaper.  The brand I use is imported from Germany, and it's still way cheaper for the same amount.

With a lot of the liquids being available in 5 gallons it would make sense for Adams, like you said to set up a team that caters to pro detailers. For a weekend warrior an 8oz bottle of compound's not bad, and the cost isn't crazy. But for someone like me who might do 3 corrections a week, as much as I'd like to. I just can't afford to use Adam's AIO.   Obviously they're doing something right as they're a very successful company with a big loyal following. Anyone know about the "unlocked pro pricing" I don't have my business license yet (in the works) and I'm wondering if this would even apply to a single man mobile detailer.

I mixed up a gallon 3-4 months ago, and do not see it changing when I refill the 16 oz. bottles.  Guessing you will be fine for 6 weeks or so.  I think using distilled water helps.

That's the one I use, I know not everyone likes the same stuff and probably a lot of people love Adam's brush. But IMHO a 2nd brush similar to the pic would be SWEET! I've used about 8 different tire brushes and this one's the best and it's not even close.

quebert got a reaction from LT1xL82 in towels with colored edges to match products
I'm a bit OCD about my detailing supplies, Adam's already does this for their Hex Grip applicators. I think it would be pretty sick if they offered their towels with silk edges to match the products.

    IE

    Pink border for Detail Spray
    Yellow border for buttery wax
    etc...

Not sure how it would work, would there be 3 of each color?  I try to color coordinate all my detailing stuff and this would be perfect imho. This sounds overkill, and normally I'd agree. But the people who use Adam's products tend to be a bit beyond your normal detailers when it comes to spending $$$   So I decided to make a poll to see, who knows maybe this could happen one day. I'd definitely buy at least 6 of each.

quebert got a reaction from pirahnah3 in Waterless vs Rinsless Wash
I've never thought of trying rinseless dilution in a bottle like waterless. But I can attest to having cleaned some very dirty cars with WW, not muddy and grime. Just very dirty from not being washed for a good while. In those cases I use lots of high quality MF's and have always loved the results.  For reference, my car's a Saturn Sky. Which is a small convertible roadster. Once when it was uber dirty I WW it and ended up using like 10 towels. Each one folded into fours & I used both sides. I do spray the panels with more solution and let it pre-soak for a bit longer when a cars very dirty. I'm not of the thinking that waterless is only for lightly dirty cars. Enough towels and good technique you can really work some magic. I use to do rinseless, but I pretty much exclusively do waterless now.  Also a good sprayers helps a lot, I use a Kwazar pump sprayer, the Adam's one sold on here would be excellent as well.

With all that said, there will be plenty of cars past the safe dirty point for a waterless, which will be lower than rinseless. But I don't agree with a lot of people on where that point is.

Not trying to argue with you here, but to bring up a different perspective. How do you know MFR is the best thing to take care of them? I've tried everything from Tide & All Free to all the specalized MF detergents you can only buy online.  If I washed 5 of the exact same towels in the 5 best detergents I've used. I couldn't tell them apart if you paid me a million bucks. Well, outside of just 5 lucky guesses lol. I use All Free & Clear with Oxiclean right now, and my towels come out looking as good as anything I've used. And I can do 91 loads for around $17 bucks.  Will my towels hold up? That I don't know, but I know the year I used a dedicated MF detergent on my older batch of towels, I'm not seeing a difference, yet any ways.

I will say this, even the best products I've used in terms of my towels coming out looking the cleanest. They never feel like when I bought them after about 4 washes. They become less soft and just feel, I dunno used.  I guess this is just how it is. So for me, I go with the cheapest product that gives me visibly good results. Now this isn't a diss to Adam's product, it's just too pricey for me considering I'm not even sure using it will give me better results over my store bought detergent. And as already mentioned by others, the Adam's staff themselves tell you this isn't reaslly a product you use every wash as your detergent. Not that you can't, but I don't think that's what it excels at. I think it suppose to excel as a pre-wash treatment, if I under the product correctly.
