zapdon reacted to avimore in DIY Detailing Cart Bottle Holder Tray
I recently purchased a detailing cart and wanted to find a solution to keep my bottles secure and prevent them from moving or tipping over.  I thought I would give it a shot and build something myself seeing as I had a specific design in mind.  Here are some details of the project...

Started with a heavy duty steel 3-tier cart and added the Adam's 'A' to class it up:

Added some shelf-liner to all three levels for some padding and protection:

Got a piece of wood cut-out to fit exactly on the top shelf.  Then measurements carefully drawn up to fit 21 bottles:

Cutting the holes out was easier than I expected and luckily the wood held up well:

    Sanded and ready for paint:

The fit turned out perfect and very sturdy:

Used a couple coats of Satin Black (I tried Gloss Black at first but it was too shiny):

Bottles are nice and snug now.  Very happy with the result

Nothing crazy, just wanted to show my love for Adams products! Bought a new truck, silver in color. As someone who loves to see the "pop" from a properly clean car, I wasn't really feeling the silver.
But after a quick new car prep (Wash, Iron Removal, Clay/Wash) I applied Liquid Paint Sealant and loved how wet it looked! I can only imagine what it would look like with Glaze and some Adams paste wax, maybe next time!

I use my Porter Cable 7424XP for spreading Sealant and Glaze
My Flex 3401 is used for more heavy correction due to its forced rotation
The 15mm throw Swirl Killer is my go to, all around polisher now
The Swirl Killer Mini is used to get into places the standard sized Swirl Killer can't

zapdon reacted to Dan@Adams in VRT vs. Tire Shine
Hi there, welcome to the forum!

My vote is for VRT in this instance. If it's raining 3-4 days a week, both products are going to wear down more quickly than usual, but you will get more applications out of one bottle of VRT rather than spraying Tire Shine - a few small drops of VRT onto an applicator block can usually cover at least 1/3 of a sidewall circumference for me. I usually apply VRT twice a week on my daily driver - I want it to always look good, and it takes me less than 4 minutes to do all four tires, so I guess that makes me insane

To get the matte look with Tire Shine, you will need to keep rubbing the product in with more effort to knock down the shine to the desired look. Again this is my opinion on the matter and others may offer completely different input...that's what's great about this forum

Trying to determine if I want to ceramic coat that car or just do a full prep and top with Patriot?
The reason I ask is that the car doesn't see any adverse elements. If rain comes, in the trailer it goes.
I have been reading up on Adams ceramic coating and if I understand correctly, detail spray will cause it to break down over time. This car will be completely wiped down between each and every round. Any suggestions?

Extremely bored since it's raining here. So I thought I'd see if I could do any hand buffing on a model car. It worked wonders! All products used were Adam's except the wax.

Single soft MF towel and my finger was used as the buffing pad. I used the correction and finishing polish. I was shocked how it came out. Topped off with Brilliant Glaze and a Liquid paste wax. Pics to follow

Just finished up giving the Mazda the Adams treatment, including a top up of H2O g&g, came out pretty well - apart from the glass heading a clay to remove some water marks. Cheers for the warm welcome! The article turned out pretty well, from what I can gather - I'm no writer, just filling in some content gaps.

nice looking shine. just keep the rain  in so-cal. I don't want it in AZ. This past weekend is first weekend in the last 3 that it did not rain. But like you said i look at 15 day forecast and the next 2 fridays show rain....blaaa.

could be worse we could be shoveling our cars out like the rest of the country.

Your steps are in the same order I do mine.

    1) Probably gonna be easier to dry the vehicle before claying
    2) Just wiping off the detail spray after a panel or 2 is fine, no need to rewash.
    3) H20 works great to seal the windows until you get your hands on the real stuff, window sealant

By the way everyone, I'd like to take all the credit for all of the So Cal rain this year! You see every time I wipe, wax, or wash one of my cars it rains the next day. Has any one notice it rains almost every Friday recently, oh that just me cleaning up the F 150 from the work week... Monday's oh that's just me cleaning my wife's Flex on Sunday... I just got back into Adams in October, oh wait that's when it started raining again... As long as I can keep wash the cars, The Drought is over.....

By the way it's gonna rain tomorrow.

You'll know right quick if they're painted/cleared or if they're molded plastic. If they're painted/cleared treat them like soft paint, thats softer. An orange pad with correcting polish will usually be enough to clean them up to 85%. Finishing Polish to jewel them. Going after 100% on these is tricky because at some point you start chasing the proverbial tail.
