kesmit reacted to SumBeach35 in Anyone here use a Nanoskin Wash Mitt instead of clay bar?
My feeling is if I need to polish a car, I'll use clay alternatives, due to their tendency to mar the paint. if I dont need to polish I'll use regular clay

I use both. I like the feel of clay alternatives, but I think that Adam's clay does a good job with less marring.

kesmit got a reaction from BrianT in Adams needs better holiday discounts!!
The fact that I can get free shipping for two gallons of product, plus 15% off is pretty amazing. It would probably cost me about as much just to ship two gallons of liquid as I paid for my last two gallon order.

kesmit got a reaction from MisanoRS4 in How long does it take you all to do the full detail??
Including polishing, 7 hours isn't much. When I did my 1999 Chevy truck, it was the first time it had ever been done and I probably spent18 hours on it. That's a lot of neglected sheet metal though.

kesmit got a reaction from Mariner in The Best White Can Look
I like H20 G&G on my white Z4 as well. I wasn't a fan of white cars for a long time, but it really depends on the lines of the car. If a car has good lines, it can pull off white. But if it's a boring body shape, the white just makes it even more bland.

kesmit got a reaction from tskanolan in 1st post - New Adam's User - Tire & Rubber cleaner review
I just got a bottle of that and tried it today too. I haven't been happy with any of the tire cleaners I've tried, but this stuff seems to work quite well. It's also the first time I tried the Tire Shine. It goes on a bit shinier than I like for my Mazda 6 (I like how VRT looks initially), but I'll give it a day or two and I bet it will dull down. However, on my white Z4, I prefer more shine, so I think it will work great there. I do like the fact that it is a spray. I very much prefer using towels to apply products than foam applicators.

kesmit got a reaction from Mariner in Wipe after Blow dry?
I find that blow drying alone just isn't fast enough to stop spotting and streaking most of the time. What I do is quickly blot the whole car dry, then blow out cracks and crevices, then a quick wipe down with spray wax or detail spray to get the spots.

kesmit reacted to Audog in Colad pressurized sprayer, i'm hooked!
After all the good talk, I ordered one. I use a lot of waterless, so think that may be the bottle for it.

Figured I would do a quick review on the colad sprayer I received today, as I haven't seen hardly any posts/reviews about them. Absolutely love it, just like the foam gun I recently purchased, I wondered shortly after the order if I really needed it and thought about cancelling the order, but so thrilled after I put some use in it. Sprays a perfect fine mist of detail spray or waterless, think it cut down my time of doing a waterless wipe down drastically. Just like the foam gun, very well made and sturdy. So easy to lightly mist an entire side of the vehicle and do a quick wipe down. Currently bought 2 and have ds and rinseless as waterless in the other, definitely gonna have to pick up another for all purpose

kesmit got a reaction from Audog in Great White Drying Towel Causing Swirls
I like to think it's a bit of both. I've got some great whites, but I use a plush towel and do more blotting than wiping. I figure the less wiping of the paint there is, the chance of inducing scratches reduces as well.

kesmit got a reaction from Captain Slow in H20 Guard & Gloss: They ain't kidding
I've had a bottle of H20 Guard & Gloss for a while but haven't taken the time to try it out. I'd heard that it works really well and is easy to apply. My Alpine white 2011 BMW Z4 was needing a new application of LSP, so I figured I'd give it a try. I used the dry method in my garage and it couldn't have been easier. Just spray it on a damp towel, wipe it on, and buff it off with a dry towel. I really didn't expect it to make a lot of difference; my Z4 was pretty shiny already. But it really did give it an extra boost of gloss. People say white cars are boring, but when it comes to a bright white Z4 with this kind of shine, I have to disagree.

I don't have any pics from today and it's dark out at the moment, but here's one from earlier. I can't wait for Spring to get here so I can get out my new polisher and really perfect the paint.
