This probably the best photo I have ever taken.  We went to El Matador Beach in Malibu early one morning during vacation.  Didn't see any tide pools but I got this great shot!

I agree OP. I was also hoping for more for Black Friday. Even when there isn't a sale going on, there are always 15% off discount codes out there if you know where to look. So I too was disappointed with the Black Friday sale (even though I placed 2 large orders).

Hey Gary, I don't frequent any of the meets but I do enjoy the espressos and exotics.
    Find the dates/times here:  https://www.facebook.com/eecarshow/?fref=ts

There is also a car meet that happens at the In-N-Out on Sahara and 15.  I only went to that one once about 4 years ago.  It was mainly Mazdas and Honda's as I remember.

Lastly, at The Mandarin Oriental, they do a luxury car show hosted by a fellow Realtor.  If you are not familiar with it, it is a luxury condo/hotel in City Center.  I am unsure how often it happens.

Bryce got a reaction from LFairbanks in What are you doing to try and stay healthy?
With my girlfriend being in nursing school, we have talked about nutrition at great length.  The main thing to think about is moderation and variety.

I did a 50lb weight loss last year while eating as much as I wanted.  I just basically limited my carb intake to next to 0 and ate plenty of vegetables and meat.  I try to skip red meat as much as possible, due to the negative health that can be related to it.  Once again, I do eat it in moderation.  I also made sure I ate as many healthy fats as possible.

Instead of eating sweets, I substituted fruits.  As most of us know, Americans eat far too much sugar in a day.

Exercise is important and I make it mandatory to get my heart pumping for 30 minutes a day.  That is usually running the track or some other cardio at the gym.

As far as the price reference, I shop my local farmers market or I go to a chain of stores called "Sprouts" that is basically a cheaper Whole Foods.  I find my normal meal cost to be between $4-$6 per person.  Typically that is much cheaper than eating out.

I recently tore my ACL, which means detailing vehicles is going to be put on hold for some time. Due to this, I am looking to sell my Rupes LHR 21 Mark II with the 5th generation pads. I have only used the unit two times and purchased it through Detailer's Domain. I am looking to get $350 + shipping for the unit and pads included. For the pads, I have an extra set of the white and orange foam as well. Unit is located in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Of course I would rather keep it local due to shipping, but willing to ship the products.

I think that is precisely my problem.  With the rotaries, we moved quickly to avoid burn through.

From what I can tell, the polisher spins so slowly that it would take me having to grab a cup of coffee with the thing running to do damage.

I also think I was going too light on polish/compound.

You won't hurt anything.Keep the pad flat with about 5 lb of pressure the pad should rotate slowly.Take 15 to 20 seconds to move 2 ft.
Others with more experience might have better advice but this works for me with my porter cable,I think the griots is very similar. check out the videos on polishing with the porter cable they  might help. The microfiber pad does take more product than the foam pad,try the foam first though moving slower.Good luck

I don't have a trim and lug nut brush.  However, I have always had good luck with a soft bristled paint brush to clean the fine dust from vents and what not.

I would think with the Cyclo, it would either take a lot of incorrect practices or a lot of separate polishes regimens to get through your clear.

With that being said, I think it is more likely one of the reasons mentioned above.

I took a bottle of 16:1 Rinseless Wash, a bottle of Waterless Wash (not the current version) and 2 Waterless Wash Towels and did various cleaning tasks on opposite sides of the car. To me, the 2 products performed essentially the same. (yep. I know the Waterless Wash I have has less (no) shine enhancers than my Rinseless Wash.)

For the cost difference, 16:1 Rinseless Wash is my go-to.

For those of you doing rinseless washes on a usual basis.  What do you do for cleaning the wheels as well?  Use the same solution and a towel?

Bryce got a reaction from GeorgeH in My wax/sealant question
I don't 100% understand your question, but I will try to answer it.  I will also throw a couple of videos below for you to watch.

Basically, sealant is man-made and artificial.  It's purpose is to provide a longer protection than a natural product like wax which is made of carnauba.

As you said earlier, you would detail your car, and then apply sealant.  You could then apply wax overtop to enhance your shine.  You will just have to understand that the wax will not last as long as the sealant.

I just started a thread on this a week or so ago.  One person mentioned a pet hair stone which I guess is similar to a pumice stone.  Another user mentioned a certain attachment that you sweep side to side with your shop vac.  I have found the second option to work best.

As said above, Waterless Wash or Rinseless is perfect for slightly dirty/dusty cars.

I get what you mean about the possibility of using the foam gun/cannon as a no-touch alternative.  IMO if you have the time to use the foam gun/cannon, dry with sidekick/MB and then dry with Detail Spray... you might as well add the 2 buckets for a safer wash.

For me, Waterless Wash works great for a quick clean when I don't have time for a standard wash.

    Hey everyone,

Like the title states, I'm looking for a used polisher.  I hope to use it only 2-3 times a year so I don't want to pay full retail quite yet.  I'm thinking maybe someone on here grew out of their Porter Cable setup.

    Shipping to 89135

Rinseless Wash is PERFECT for slightly dirty or dusty cars. Multiple towels flipping every pass. Use up all 8 sides of the towel and toss it in the hamper. Get a fresh one.

I do mine with 6 wash towels and 3 - 4 drying towels.

Finish it up with a detail spray wipe and it looks car-show ready.

A good guideline is 1 full spray per panel. So 1 full spray diagonally on 1 door, wipe with wet towel then 1 full spray diagonally on other door, wipe...

You shouldn't see the liquid level drop after you do a car.

Just use less product. You are loading up the towel. So you did alright just using what was left in the towel. At least thats what works for me.
