  1. I only have a small bottle of the Prep. Plus, a bottle of IPA is $2.50, the prep several times the cost. I wasn't aware of lubricants in the Prep, but by using a quality MF towel, that lessens most of my fears. To each his or her own, I guess.
  2. Like @rrmccabe said, you can add a few ounces of Eco APC to your wash bucket with the CS in the absence of SW. It'll do the same thing. When I say remove polish residue, you can use a 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water mix with some blue Waterless Wash towels. Ceramic Prep also works great. It's a way of removing the oils from the polish prior to wax, sealant, etc.
  3. Thanks, Rich. Didn't know they were out there, was more of a random thought with Dan. That price would put me out of the market, and I agree, don't want junk. Guess we will see if a lower cost but still quality model becomes a reality or not.
  4. Yes, you should still strip wash it. But then again, you should still strip it even if you don't use the HGG, so may as well enjoy the shine in the meantime!
  5. Hey, team Adam's! I talked to @Dan@Adams earlier today...any thoughts about offering a collapsible detail cart? Would help with mobile detailing services, for sure, as well as storage in the garage, shed, etc. I'm not an engineer, but I'm thinking some sort of telescoping legs would be easiest, or maybe accordion style brackets. Basically, something that has a couple shelves and breaks down easily.
  6. Looks good. Few more tips...VRT all trim after strip wash, before clay to make removing any residue you WILL get on it much easier at the end. Then touch up as necessary. Remember to remove polsih residue before wax. And consider taping off any sharp emblems to avoid damaging your pads. Add an adult beverage or two to the mix (assuming you're of age!), and post some pics when done! I might also add...that's one BEAUTIFUL ride! ?
  7. First time for everything, Dan. As for the sprayer option, makes sense. It is nice to have a few spares since I've had some crack as you mentioned. Trying to track it down to that level of detail (no pun intended...happy coincidence!) may only serve to add delays to the process.
  8. Actually, TRC and Eco APC are two different, yet awesome in their own right, products. Perhaps what the person meant was they could be used interchngably on tires, rubber and plastic trim, which is true. Haven't heard of using TRC much elsewhere on the car. Eco APC is just that, an all purpose degreaser anx cleaner that works on just about anything. And that's not just cars. Grills, around the house, etc.
  9. That Ford tuxedo black is a good lookin' color. Let's see some pics. Another great article I still think should be mandatory reading for all new members/detailers:
  10. Not a fan at all of the wheel woolie handles. Waaaayyy too small, and asked a while back about improving them. Still waiting. Anyway, I added a bike handle. Heard about others using a putter grip and considering switching to one to work on my stroke while washing my car. Talk about therapy!⛳
  11. Clay is good at removing bonded contaminants since that's its purpose. A soak with Waterless Wash or Rinseless Wash diluted 16:1 might also be a good alternative. Maybe even Iron Remover. Can you post a couple pics?
  12. Welcome to the addiction, Travis! I was at the same clinic, so may run into you in the future. Hope you enjoy the thread Jen/@8675309'SS referred you to...we've all been (and continue to be) there ☺️.
  13. Do you mean foam gun or canon? Menaing, hose or pressure washer used? Most engines today are well sealed and can withstand a cleaning, but do you have any open air filters, after-market parts, etc? P.S. Welcome! Post an intro for us in the New Member forum when you get a chance.
  14. That's awesome! Now to ask your wife to make a shirt for the rest of us.
  15. Welcome, Chris! Whatcha keeping shiny?
  16. Welcome to the addiction, Holly! Car looks great.
  17. Wow, Dustin. Talk about making the new guy the "driving force" of the ship. I'm actually more concerned about where you are in pics 2 and 3....
  18. Hopefully it's not as bad as it sounds with the clear coat, etc. But if the detailer damaged it, I'd say you're in for a refund and maybe payment for damage, at least. Not sure I'd trust them to try and fix it, though. Standing by for pics.
  19. Adam's sells this truck brush. Might be of interest. https://adamspolishes.com/adam-s-truck-brush-combo.html
