The turn around is great, thanks for the write-up. Too bad it couldn't even out the striping, but as you said it probably loss of pigments from something.

PacificNWBuckeye reacted to falcaineer in Daily Special...Thanks for Listening, Adam's!
I just wanted to send along a big "THANK YOU" to Dan@Adams, Bianca@Adams, the Adam's marketing team, the Adam's shipping crew, and the rest of the Adam's team, in general!

Here's the story (even if it's a coincidence): I sent an email request just last Friday to list the Foam Gun as the Daily Special. I hadn't seen it posted there in a while, kept striking out on the recent MB sales (despite seemingly buying one every time since July...but, hey, at least I have a healthy supply of CS, W&W, HGG and others!), and my desire was getting the better of me, especially with all the gifts already under the tree. Well, lo and behold, two days later, there it was as the Daily, as if to say, "Buy me!" How could I resist?! I had some minor issues placing the order on the site, but a quick call in the morning later, and it's already sitting comfortably in my garage (yes, it pays to live ~90 min south of the Mother Ship), just waiting to spread holiday cheer (read: SUDS!) all over my cars...as soon as the weather cooperates!!!

Moral of the story - Adam's listens.

Anyway, you all are the best, and really, your customer service, and of course, product quality, are second to none. You have earned my repeat business (until I go broke, anyway ). Keep up the GREAT work!

I too found that the wash pad scratches my finish, given that I am one of the only one to report this, it's probably user error but I only do wash mitts now and don't have any problems.

I have always been curious about this as well. I normally always use foam pads and I only prime with 3 dots like The Junkman. But when I use MF pads I butter them up. I am not comfortable using MF pads yet either.

Spray Dye is what you're looking for.

Thoroughly clean the carpet. Preferably with a steam cleaner and remove as much of the offending stain as possible. Spray the dye on and work it in with your fingers (latex gloves are handy here). Using a hair dryer or a heat gun set on low, dry the dyed areas while working the fabric with your gloved fingers. Finally, let it sit for 8 hours or so, then clean it again with upholstery cleaner and warm water. Use a junk towel to wipe the residue..

PacificNWBuckeye got a reaction from MisanoRS4 in How long does it take you all to do the full detail??
When I did my 2006 CVPI it took 2 10 hour days, but this was super rough paint. I had never detailed to that extent and I had to do it outside, so the sun was drying the polish out. 7 hours sounds pretty quick, so your paint must have been in decent shape to start.

I do, and for an affordable choice to use as a first timer, I'd recommend the Porter Cable 7424XP:

You could also check out the Garage Sale Forum to see what others on here have posted for sale. Sometimes you'll find polishers, pads, etc., on there.

Very capable machine, and it won't burn or damage your paint. Watch these for some comfort factor:

Rememeber the Adam's pads are color coded to the polish, etc, and don't forget the backing plate.

    Above all, have fun!

The SVRT should help the fading, but rather than cover the rust, you need to stop whatever has caused it and get the rusted part out. That way it doesn't continue to spread. If it will be under a flare you won't have to make it perfect, but do what you can to stop it.

I forgot to mention on the original post how I got the wood tray to hang on the top part of the shelf and not sink to the bottom.  The simplest solution I could think of was by using the existing screws that hold the cart together.  I just ended up buying 4 longer screws and added them to each corner, giving me a base that the wood rests on:

Thought this might be useful for anyone wanting to use a similar setup.

Good idea Gary, the compressed air would be a good maintenance step. I had never thought about it and after having them out for many years there was a decent amount of dust and cat hair built up. I'm sure if your displays have any kind of doors it would help minimize the build up as well.

Below is my last setup, as you can see mine were pretty open for the most part.

I always use DS as a dying aid, whether doing a full 2 bucket wash or a Rinseless wash.  It adds a little shine to the paint.

As Jason said, not much you can do it you have to work in direct sunlight.  If I am stuck in the sun, I use extra DS, and spray the whole car before starting with the GWMDT.

We offer our buckets with our logo and a nice gamma-seal water-tight lid, but yes the Grit Guard will fit in most standard 5 gallon buckets.

I've done a 2013 Explorer, a 2012 Veloster, 2006 Crown Vic and the hood of my 2002 Dakota and still have more than half of a 16oz bottle left, like they've said above once the towel loads you use less.

Get the 16oz and make sure you like it, you can always get a gallon later. They are not going to get rid of it anytime soon, it's darn near magic in a bottle.
