PacificNWBuckeye reacted to Matt@Adams in Why Adam's Paint Correction Videos Are Misleading
    Hey Rich,

Thanks for calling our attention to this.

In all honesty, we haven't been approving or disapproving a number of reviews in the last month.

Adam and I just sat down to look at this thread. We found dozens of reviews, both positive and negative that were overlooked in our system.

Look again and you should notice a bunch of new reviews!

Again, thanks for calling our attention to this. We appreciate your business.

Spending the day out with the wife ans a friend for my birthday, 1 stop will be a Geek Craft Fair, whatever that is, maybe I can get something Superman or Harley Quinn. Also heading to Aurora to this really cool Antique Store, hoping I'll find another vintage razor.

Just about time to head for breakfast, so just want to wish the other members that share this day as their birthday....

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

PacificNWBuckeye reacted to Dan@Adams in Adam's at the Hot Rod Power Tour!
Hey everyone, we've been keeping this kinda secret, but it's time to make it official. A few months back, Adam purchased a '63 Suburban to turn into an 'all go, no show' street cruiser! He picked it up in Ohio, then we had it shipped back to HQ, where it then went off to Weaver Customs for some upgrades.

It has an LS3 and 6 speed auto out of a 5th Gen Camaro, Ridetech coilovers, Wilwood Brakes, and a sweet exhaust setup.

Joe and Adam went down to New Orleans last night to take it on the Hot Rod Power Tour for an inaugural drive. Make sure to say hi if you see them driving on the tour!

Here's a few pictures from the build process:

First rolling shots with the new power plant, not the final wheels:

Wheels showed up and were quickly off to powder coat:

Finished result, powder coated wheels, quick two-tone paint job:

Getting loaded up with Torc from Weaver Customs!

Thanks for looking, and stay tuned for more updates from Adam and Joe!

I would tend to Agree with Jim, unless the clear has failed it's not a lost cause. You may not achieve "perfection", but "perfect" for your situation and level of ability (which is ever changing) can be reached.

Hmm.... I've never heard the term dust nib before. I always just heard it called dirt in the paint. Which is what it is, but now I know there is a term for it.

Thank you adams...so much for your support, I am currently serving in 3rd Battalion 4th Marines, our roots run deep in combat as we are one of the most combat deployed units in the Marine Corps. Almost everyday during PT we run up to a cross that was put up above mainside in honor of our fallen brothers (Sailors and Marines) that we lost in Iraq and Afghanistan

Again I can't thank you enough, it's probably one of the best things I have ever seen a company do for our armed forces.

I'll chime in with the opinion that Paint Sealant should go on first - before Brilliant Glaze. I've tried it both ways and prefer it this way:

    1:  Sealant

    2:  Glaze

    3:  Wax

Plenty of differing opinions on here so try it for yourself and see what works for you.

I had a issue when I first played with the Visco clay, not stretchy, hard to mold and it didn't want to take an impression of the tool.... and then I realized there was a plastics wrap over the clay. I got the wrap off of it and it was just like the video.

I hope I'm not the only one that couldn't tell the was a wrap on it at first.

I saw the video on Youtube showing the features and the comments are not kind, mostly about price. I don't have one, but if they are like anything else Adam's sells I'm sure they are much better quality than even video can express.

Nah kidding, nice turn out with simply the car shampoo, imagine what it would look like with a hint of H2O.

Good thing with this color is swirls are very hard to see in a day to day setting

PacificNWBuckeye reacted to flyboy9994 in Trim and Lug Nut Brush bristles falling out
    Hey all, OP here.

Promise this isn't a rant or a complaint. More of an inquiry. If a few bristles fall out when the brush is new then no big deal. I'll continue to use it and if it get's to the point where it's obvious the brush is defective then I have no problem with contacting Adams customer service. Just got a little concerned when a decent size clump came out the last time I used it.

Basically just asking if this is normal and if so then no big deal. I'm certainly not bashing and I use nothing but Adams and am constantly amazed at how great these products are. Lifelong customer here for sure!

I think theres a difference between users coming the community and saying "hey is this normal?" and a user coming on the forum saying "this is junk and falling apart Adam's employess <insert customer service demand/request here.>

I think this users intent was the former and not the latter. I know I've reached out to some non Adam's employee trusted resources on here before with a question of "hey, whats your experience with this...." because I wanted to see if that aligned with mine, or ddi i need to reach out to Adam's support for an actual problem...

I don't know the particular dealer or their service department, but I would be surprised if it was ph balanced. Most likely it was run through some sort of automated wash bay with scratch-o-matic brushes. I worked at a place doing customer car washes in college and they used a soap that worked fine, but it stripped everything off.

I think you answered your question.....the pad isn't clean enough.
I always spray mine down with APC and let set sometimes over night, then spray it down again and  wash out in the sink with warm water. Wash it until you think it's clean then do it again.

I've read that 0000 Steel Wool can scratch glass, so I would be very careful with that method (not tried it myself). I'm curious to try the Barkeepers Friend mentioned above, my recent acquisition could use some deep cleaning on the windshield.

Old stuff worked great, but that smell.... I had to resort to wearing rubber gloves when using it so as not to smell it on my hands for days afterwards. I hope to pick up some of the new stuff this weekend at the Roadster Show, but sometime the local dealer doesn't have the newest stuff right after it comes out.
