I had a very open conversation with Adam himself about 2-3 months ago it was a good conversation where I voiced the same displeasure of Adams.  His final words to me were " Vote with your dollar"

I've been using Adam's stuff since 2005ish. Started with a bottle of the original Detail Spray and yellow (or were they white?) microfiber towels, then some VRT, then some car wash, Brilliant Spray Glaze, APC, swirl and haze remover, buttery wax, etc. and eventually ended up with basically every product available. I still have a cabinet full of Adam's stuff, new and old. Anybody with Adam's who pulls up my information will see a pretty long order history, so I feel somewhat qualified to address this.

What got me interested in the brand originally was the simplicity of the lineup, and Adam. I liked the face of the company and I liked being able to "special order" something better than what could be bought in stores. Seeing Adam's passion for providing simple, quality products and how-to support for those products was all I needed. I understand the expansion of the lineup to include ceramics, accessories, etc. to stay current. I'm not onboard with the "lifestyle" stuff personally. I'd like to see the focus be on a solid lineup without branching off on sub-lines. Keep the products streamlined, current, improve them as needed, and focus on providing training in the form of videos and social media posts on how to use those products. I'd also like to see Adam himself be a little more present. Being busy isn't an excuse. We're all busy. Be the face of the company, cut the cutesie crap, and get back to the products and support being the main focus.

I remember placing an order many years ago. Shortly after the order went through, I got an email from the man himself simply thanking me for the repeat business. That email has generated LOTS of repeat business from me over the years. I don't know if I came across the Adam's of today that I would be as impressed or loyal to the brand as the Adam's I discovered almost 15 years ago.

I know it doesn't do any good to live in the past or cry over spilt milk, and I don't know the details of the divorce and I doubt we ever will. BUT, I will say the Adam's of a few years ago with Adam and DvK at the helm was the Adam's I felt good about. It was exciting, professional yet casual, and generally in good hands. I'm not saying beg DvK to come back, because comments he's made have made it clear that's not an option, but I would love to see that version of Adam's back.

With the recent release of the new Adam's website and a few products (re-branded pressure washer) I've noticed some major push back on Facebook about the direction of the company. I have to agree. I've been a huge supporter and advocate of this company for several years now, but I'm starting to think they have abandoned the true detailing community for high profit sales. There was a time when Adam did not want to sell items made in China (now it seems everything they sell is), he was also involved in the forums and detailing community, as well as the strict development of quality products. Also it seems since the exit of Dylan, this company has declined quite quickly. I know I'm not alone, but I fear no one on this forum will back me. Thoughts?

This is honestly the reason I have slowed on buying Adam's products,  I never knew how long or if it would truly all there.  Adam's a great product, but seems that they have focused on limited products, and less about company infastructure.

I find it weird that Adam's has these loyal customers and continues to scam them with these so called "deals". If you pay close attention, this combo's original price is 29.99 and is on sale for 27.99. The price for a double soft towel is 14.99 and the Valentine's detail spray is 12.99 by itself. If you do the math 12.99 + 14.99 is 27.98. With that being said, where did they get the number 29.99 from and how is it a sale if you can literally purchase both the towel and the detail spray for 1 cent cheaper than the 29.99 combo sale price? Really opens your mind to some questions like what else are they doing this with and did they really make only 2,000 units.. They launched this detail spray on a Monday and it is now Wednesday night. On Tuesday mid afternoon (a day after launch), they posted something on their instagram story claiming that there were only 500 left.. 1 full day later and its literally still on website up for grabs. I don't know guys... seems like they care more about our money rather than customer satisfaction and price point

Mbrazelton reacted to shane@detailedreflections in one step polish ? or is it a all in one
A couple of things. Your post would be much easier to read with some paragraphs. Reading a wall of text like that makes it possible to miss some points.

A “one step polish” is literally just that. It’s a polish only and typically a diminishing abrasive that goes from a medium aggregate to a fine aggregate. This will remove imperfections. It will not finish down like a true finishing polish or cut like a compound. This is for your clients who want improvement, not perfection.

An “all in one” is essentially a polish and protection in one. Usually less powerful in cut than even the one step polishes. All in one products are full of compromises because it’s doing multiple jobs. It will never function as well as separate dedicated products. Protection isn’t long lived. We use an all in one as an economy one step polish. We upcharge for different steps and better protection.

If you’re going into polishing for money, there’s a few points I feel need mentioning. First is to get yourself a paint thickness gauge of some kind. It’s invaluable in knowing what you’re working with and how aggressive you can (or more importantly can’t) be. Once you take money from someone for a service, you’re a professional. An “oops” has to be fixed. An oops in polishing can mean repainting at your expense. Know what you’re working with to work confidently.

The next point is to not underestimate the cost of the proper tools. We have more polishers than most and you don’t need to go to that extreme, but you will need more than one polisher to do most jobs without cutting corners.

Also from a business standpoint don’t underestimate the expense and number of pads you will need and will burn through. You can’t stop working on a clients car because you smoke a pad. You need a bunch of them. We have six or seven different pads (different cuts, wool/foam, etc) and we keep a bunch of each. This expense needs to be figured into your pricing and you need to sit on stock.

Polishes can be kept as simple as compound, correcting and finishing. The line we use gives us seven or eight options  so we can typically find just the right amount of cut.

Practice polishing a bunch before you take money and invest in the proper equipment to do it as a business.

I believe they had some problems with the first batch, that is probably why this is bad reviews. I think that fact that you said your suprised they even got posted is wrong.  If people want to leave a bad review because they have a problem they are allowed to, that how it works. Also a lot of people lately have been bother by the mass rebranding that Adam's has done, and the direction they have went.

Here's a trick I've learned to help stop the squeaking/jumping wiper blades.

Step 1.) Wipe the rubber of the wiper blade off with Windshield Wiper Fluid and a paper towel until no more black come off onto the paper towel. Let Dry.

Step 2.) Wipe the rubber of the wiper blade down with Glass Sealant. Let Dry. Buff down the Glass Sealant with a clean paper towel.

Quite honestly spend the money on an adams polisher. It’s a better quality product and will give a much better result.

As for the second strip wash, there’s no real need. In fact, we don’t use strip wash at all in our services. Polishing will remove anything that remains from soft wax layers. If you’re really that worried you didn’t get all the polish residue off, use IPA or coating prep. But even then you’d never notice the difference in the end result.

The second wash simply uses up time in the process for the most part in our opinion. You’ll find differing answers though. We can achieve fantastic, durable results without strip wash or the second wash.
