The Guz reacted to Captain Slow in What Did You Wash, Shine, and or Polish Today
These past two days had the TBSS garage queen getting a spring clean up. Yesterday it got a two bucket with Grit Gard wash using jumbo & small wash pads and Adam's Car Shampoo. I clayed the paint and glass then sealed the glass with Glass Sealant. This morning I gave the paint two coats of Quick Sealant an hour apart. Wheels and trim got SVRT and the wheel wells got grape Koolaid. The interior got vacuumed then the carpet got cleaned with Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner. My wife is very pleased to say the least.
I think she looks good for a 115,000 mile daily driven turned garage queen.

The Guz got a reaction from PaintTech in 2002 Camaro SS
Well my Camaro is all done. I have been making some slight changes to the appearance.
A little background. I bought this car about 10 years ago. I am the second owner. The previous owner was a car collector that passed away. This car went to auction where another guy bought it. I bought it from that guy. At the time the odomoeter read 3K miles. It is currently sitting at 14K miles. I only drive it on the weekends.
This is the list of things that I have recently done:
-Installed a new vinyl hood scoop to replace the old one that had seen better days
-Installed a set of 35th anniversary replica wheels
-The 35th anniversary center caps have been discontinued for sometime now so I found some silver ones that I painted black. Followed that up with a set of OEM sized vinyl bowtie emblems. Finished everything off with clear coat which was wet sanded and compounded/polished out.
-Compounded the car with a non Adam's compound and microfiber pads. Foam pads would not make a dent with the hard clear on this car
-Polished it out with a non Adam's polish
-Sealed with Adam's New Liquid Paint Sealant - about 2-3 weeks ago
In the meantime I waterless washed it until I got my other Adam's products (brilliant glaze, buttery and Americana)
This past Friday, 3/28 I applied a coat of brilliant glaze over the car and followed that up with buttery. I used Americana on the black sail panel. Buttery on the rest of the car. I have to say brilliant glaze works great. Really brought out the shine even though the car is white. Buttery smells good. Easy on and off. Americana was also easy on and off.
On to the photos.
A couple before with the previous wheels:
These were taken with my phone.
Reflection while it sits in the garage.
Another reflection off the sail panel. You can see the garage door. This has Liquid paint sealant, Brilliant Glaze and Americana.
I was working on the daily and took this reflection shot off the rear fender. It has Liquid paint selant, brilliant glaze and buttery.
Pulled it out of the garage.
For those that are curious the car has the following mods:
SLP Cold Air Intake
SLP SS front grille
Black headlights
Custom SS front emblem
Magnaflow cat back exhaust that was later converted to the center mount style set up
SLP rear center exhaust valence
Full audio system
Full hotchkis suspension (lowering springs, trailing arms, front and rear sway bars, front strut bar)
Koni adjustable shocks
35th anniversary replica wheels
Black painted calipers with Camaro vinyl
Tinted windows
Future mods:
Computer tune
Black euro corner lights. This is still up in the air. I do like the look of the factory yellow corners.

The Guz reacted to Chewy in Top luxury car under 50k
If I had that dough to spend and wanted something with some "American" muscle and it had to be new, I'd look at the SS.
It's a solid 4 door performance sedan with all the gidgies to make you happy!

The Guz reacted to THE Mook in Need Polisher Recommendations
To clarify something in this thread...The Cyclo and the Porter Cable have about the same cutting ability with the Adam's Polishing System.

The Guz reacted to BTRSS in Treating a new paint job
The Camaro is done !! Entire front end was repainted as I added:
- 3d Carbon Side Vents
- ACS T4 Ports with Vertical LED's
- MPD1 Z Force Hood
- Mounted a painted bowtie to the DJ grille
- Added '68 - 69ish' painted striping to the front end and up the hood with 3 coats of clear to mask the paint transition.
Came out fantastic!! As we speak I'm detailing the engine (also with a bunch of mod's) and the interior to get ready for this weekends Boston World of Wheels show. Guys at the body shop feel the paint is fine to use detail spray but no wax. Here are some pictures.

The Guz reacted to goheels in Techniques of the working by hand
I get that people like doing it by hand, but you simply can't get the same results as a machine. The wear/tear on your body is a big negative as well.
Ever since using a PC, there is no way that I would ever go back.

The Guz got a reaction from KBsToy in Brilliant Glaze when to use?
How would brilliant glaze look on white? We know light colored cars don't really have the same look with carnauba and gloss is the key thing on a light colored car.
I am going to use the new liquid paint sealant and have buttery on the way as well.
Would I get better results if I put:
1. Sealant only
2. Sealant >> brilliant glaze >> sealant
3. Sealant >> brilliant glaze >> buttery
Thanks

The Guz got a reaction from KBsToy in Which ones - Microfiber or foam pads?
I agree. Get both. If you need more correction than what foam offers then switch to an MF pad.
-
The Guz got a reaction from b_pappy in Americana
I got the mini as well and I'm glad I did. For an enthusiast it is more than enough. It will last a long time. All I am waiting for is for my brilliant glaze to come in so I can add both to my camaro and I will eventually do the same with my dad's camaro.

The Guz got a reaction from Chewy in 2009.5 G8 GXP Progress Thread
Sounds awesome. I agree I need to get me G8 GXP. I like what you did with the engine bay.

The Guz got a reaction from Kingsford in Fall 2013 Patriot Wax Detail
That looks very nice. Looks better than new.

The Guz got a reaction from Team Adam's in I have seen the light !!
That's a good kit. It's nice because if the paint is hard then microfiber is the way you want to go. If it it not too hard or soft then foam will be what you need. Don't forget the backing plate. I have a PC and it gets the job done to maintain my personal cars. I just finished using the new liquid paint sealant on my white 02 Camaro. I have nothing but good things to say about it.
This is a good kit to get.

I would add
Liquid paint sealant for longer protection

Green Wheel cleaner
http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-436-adams-green-wheel-cleaner.aspx
In and Out Spray for those hard to reach areas

Total Interior Detailer

Not sure if your cars have leather but if they do you could pick up the leather cleaner and conditioner.

The Guz reacted to GXPaycheck in Daily maintenance?
You do the senseless wash twice a day!
There's interesting info in here on the Cali dusters. A quick search will find the threads.
For daily touch up, you might try a pressure washer followed by a blow dry. I do that quite a bit.
Here's this one: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/26086-california-duster-useful-or-trash-it/

The Guz reacted to mtnbiker326 in Daily maintenance?
Man... that senseless wash is the best! Is that a combo of used towels and a one bucket type of wash?
Kidding aside... I agree with the Guz.
-
The Guz got a reaction from mtnbiker326 in Daily maintenance?
I'm in California and I just accept dust on my daily and wash it every week with either a 2 bucket or senseless.

The Guz got a reaction from Chewy in Leather Re-dying/Repair?
It came out great. Did you end up using the kit in the video that you posted?
