Well done!  I'll always remember my first time.  I was nervous and clumsy and didn't really know what I was doing. So I just took my time and watched a lot of videos (of Adam and Dylan).  Today, I'm still an amateur but I don't get nervous anymore.

mc2hill reacted to quebert in Adam's Glass Cleaner new formula - review
They say a pictures worth a thousand words, dunno what happened but my before and after pictures turned out awful and weren't worth 100 words. So you'll just have to take my word here, if you want...

I bought the kit with the sealant and towels. I live in So Cal where it never rains so it makes sense I wanted to put sealant on my windows to help with rain when I'm driving.  Anywho I had the old formula glass cleaner, it's right around my favorite. I have another brand I like but it's flash time sucks. Anywho, yesterday we had some crazy out of nowhere dust storm that dirtied up my wind shield. Then later that night it rained for about 10 seconds. I used my wipers but forgot my fluid tank was empty so all that happened was the dirt smeared all over.

This afternoon I decided to try out the new cleaner. I was too lazy to wash my car first, and the windows were too dirty for me to want to soil up the glass towels that came with the kit. So I used an older very short nap black MF towel I got somewhere ages ago. I dunno maybe Target *shrug*

Afew light sprays and a few wipes then I flipped the MF and buffed it.  It did an exceptional job at removing the dirt. I had respray the bird poop areas but it too came off pretty easily. Doing a quick semi sloppy job with the wrong MF I was still impressed. I absolutely cannot wait to nanoskin + clean + sealant it. It also smells good, not sure if it's my top pick for windows but at worst it's neck and neck with the other stuff I use.

    Very nice work Kyle!

Agreed, they look fantastic once you finally get them fully corrected.

We probably get a little more warm weather than you do, but we are not as close to the sun!  I only do corrections for money this time of year, I won't touch my own cars until October.

Black cars can be very rewarding, but they take a bit more work to get looking perfect.

Is the Jetta a BMP car or just normal black?

With the time crunch I think you will be stuck using over-the-counter stuff.  You should be able to pick up a PowerBall and some aluminum polish by the same company that makes the PowerBall.  Adam's Metal Polish 1 & 2 will giver better results, and maybe you can try them down the road.

Some of us have to do it panel-by-panel due to time constraints.

Try 3M Adhesive Remover.  It should be available at most auto parts stores.  I have also found a plastic putty knife or plastic razor blades are helpful with this.

I have lost some enjoyment and don't detail as much anymore. What triggered this for me was my neighbor cutting down the tree that provided my Saturday morning shade. Trying to wash and detail in the Florida sun is so blazing hot.
But I have been missing detailing so I have been considering getting a good quality pop up canopy or two so I can have my Saturday morning shade back.

Uh, it's why I joined Club Silver. The twins are getting more active and since they come first the detailing and fishing will be done less. Speaking of my twins today is their seventh birthday. Happy Birthday Caitlyn and Abigail.

    What the others said^.
I will also use an Adam's Trim & Lug Nut Brush that is dedicated for paint only, usually with Waterless Wash.  Popsicle sticks (craft sticks) wrapped in a thinner MF towel are heplful too.

mc2hill reacted to GXPaycheck in Son diagnosed with autism today.
As the father of a son with Aspergers, get out and learn as much as you can. Sounds like your son is on the high functioning end of the spectrum (like mine).
Helps to keep things in perspective. It's kinda like the difference between a PC and a Mac. They can do the same things, but in different ways. And they can't talk to each other without a lot of specialized work. But they can do it. Parents have to learn first though! My son's mother still hasn't. That's a whole nuther story!
Once you learn how they think and react, life is a bit easier for all of you.
Mine is now 24, drives, goes to community college (simulation and game development with a side order of programming), and has an AS degree. He still has issues, mostly social, but he's learning (he tends to take things literally. I have a LOT of fun with that). He also inherited why sick warped sarcastic sense of humor. Unfortunately his sense of timing and audience sux!
You didn't mention how old he is. Mine was diagnosed about 12 years ago. He was fortunate to have some good teachers in public schools as well. I worked with him and his teachers all the time.
You will find that he has one special interest (a lot like trains for some reason. Mine is a very good sci-fi writer), learn to cultivate that.
We like to have preconceived notions about what we want our kids to be. Those notions usually go sideways for many reasons. Remember that your son isn't handicapped (essentially, we are, because we don't know how to handle it), he's just different, and requires different treatment and training.
Find a nearby Autism library/bookstore and start studying!

My wife is the happiest in the world since I started using Adam's.  We're retired and I'm always in the garage (when I'm not on here) messing around with one product or another.  Keeps me out of her hair.  Of course, in the winter that smile on her goes away.

Ive mentioned this in a thread or 2, but I would suggest using the above application method, but also switch out the sprayer/bottle. I used a Tolco Gold sprayer, and it atomized the product perfect and drastically cut down on the amount of product I used.
