  1. Not trying to knock the Swirl Killer, I'd love one myself, but I don't see how the PC couldn't get good results. I used one on a couple really trashed vehicles and got great results, you have to work slower and more deliberate, but it is a very effective tool for little money.
  2. I still have a fair amount of my original purchased polishes, none have separated and seem fine to the touch. I will test them out before doing a whole car, but they still appear fine.
  3. I was going to go with ceramic boost as the first layer and work up, unless conflicting information comes out before I get to try it out. We are in the rainy season out here so unless I really make a dent in the garage it will wait until spring.
  4. I will be going this route as well, 2 older daily drivers just don't warrant the full treatment. I figure ceramic boost with sealant and wax over it once they are both polished for spring should be plenty good enough.
  5. I try to keep to a once a week schedule until this time of year when it rains everyday for weeks on end.
  6. Hmmmm..... this seems to go against my never buy anything with a cord from Harbor Freight. Glad to hear they are working for you, is it that they are actually decent tools or did you make "fixes" to correct issues?
  7. Some of us are bigger guys (I'm 6'5" around the 260 mark. I'm still wanting one of the Polo's.
  8. I have my waxes in a small fridge in the garage, but the rest is just kept on a shelf out there. Washington doesn't get anything like a Michigan winter, so far I've not had any issues with leaving them out there.
  9. When I did my 2006 CVPI it took 2 10 hour days, but this was super rough paint. I had never detailed to that extent and I had to do it outside, so the sun was drying the polish out. 7 hours sounds pretty quick, so your paint must have been in decent shape to start.
  10. Looks good, long way from the original boxy Civic. The Porter Cable doesn't get the love it deserves, very capable machine, but it has it quirks.
  11. I'm from Ohio, but it was about the furthest east you could go before falling in the river. Welcome!
  12. The turn around is great, thanks for the write-up. Too bad it couldn't even out the striping, but as you said it probably loss of pigments from something.
  13. Not really about the towels, but anyone got advice on how to keep my wife from touching the glass on the passenger side of my truck? My side will barely need wiped during a clean, but hers needs a few sprays of cleaner every time.
  14. Had to pull the plastic cowl off my 2002 Dakota yesterday to clean out all the drain paths, used truck must have been parked under a pine tree for years. Discovered I had an issue when my passenger side floor got drenched after recent heavy rains, darn Pacific NorthWest weather.
  15. I'd love a nice Adam's wallpaper too. I think there were Adam's calendars at one point maybe files from those could be used....
  16. Good to see DVK still around, not a coffee drinker myself, but thanks for a little mini give-away (cool keychain though)
  17. Pretty sure it's rained everyday this month so far, I know it's on 4 days, but still it would make sense it being National Car Care Month. Darn you Pacific North West!
  18. I can't wait to get some of this, need to use up some of my stash of products before buying more.
  19. I thought that was what I saw in the first post. Great looking cart and near enough to Adam's red it already matches everything they put out.
  20. The SVRT should help the fading, but rather than cover the rust, you need to stop whatever has caused it and get the rusted part out. That way it doesn't continue to spread. If it will be under a flare you won't have to make it perfect, but do what you can to stop it.
  21. I would throw in a coat of sealant before/instead of the wax, if you do both they should be protected for awhile, so long as they are not automatic car wash people.....
  22. Rich, We have 2 white cats and neither have ever been in my truck, but there is plenty of cat hair in my truck, so your theory has a hole in it.
  23. Never tried tire shine, but SVRT brings Plastidip back to life. I have black Plastidip on the wheels on my Vic, the SVRT makes them super dark and look freshly done.
  24. Nice review, I haven't tried the dry method, but the wet method works very well too. It's odd to go from a wet vehicle to a dry and sealed one in the time it takes to dry it.
