Yes, but they often take tons of calls, especially during big sales, and have a very small phone service team (2 is common). Yesterday was different because they weren't taking phone orders (or in person) for Untamed. I was there and saw the craziness!

I don’t disagree.  However, this has happened with the last few limited releases. Maybe you are not buying limiteds and that’s fine but for those of us who do want them it’s rather annoying.

Am I mad?  No, not at all.  Am I disappointed?  Yep.  Quite the annoyance.  Life or death?  No but I don’t want to pay Ebay prices for an Untammed set either.

Thanks @Firebuff17  hopefully we see you at the clinic in May!

And for the question, the ceramic spray is an easier installation than a full coating in terms of spray on/wipe off. The results will be varied by the prep as always. The glossiness of a coating isn’t necessarily the coating as much as the polishing and prep leading up to it. I could show you cars with no protection that are polished really well that you might think were coated (until you put water on them). The coatings just enhance that look.

This is just my opinion, so take it for what it’s worth. The ceramic spray would be a great alternative to the ceramic boost or ceramic wax that’s easy to apply and durable. It’s not a replacement for a full coating. If you’re going to do all the prep work anyway, why not get the durability of a full coating and top it with the spray coating as a “sacrificial” layer that will all you maximum protection of the look you worked to achieve?

    Your mileage may vary.

You’d cringe at the colors of some of our towels. We toss them when they don’t feel good any more. The color doesn’t matter. No two of ours are the same unless they’re brand new.

@Antv20 Congrats on the haul!  I agree completely and I actually called to ask why they aren’t in the bottles any longer. They said the shipping manager was trying out shipping without the caps in the bottles.  I expressed my request for them to be brought back and they said they would pass it along to the shipping manager.

Contact customer service and let them know what happened. I’m sure they will work with you to make it right.

I had talked to Tyler up at the warehouse, He told me the reason they aren't doing red caps is because they are going to be switching to sealing each bottle individually. They are just at the awkward stage in between red caps and plastic seals. They just havent gotten over to it yet. That was what i heard at least. I think the seals will be better at containing product and prevent stuff from leaking.

I don’t think we will be ordering any, at least none in the sweet aluminim container. It might be nice to toss a level of protection before winter on a coated vehicle, but I’m not sure it’s a need given the nature of ceramic coatings and their longevity.

I will be curious on the price of the normal container. That may sway me to try it and see how it is. We have used other waxes for ceramics and can’t say we were overly impressed. Maybe this will be different for us.

Antv20 reacted to shane@detailedreflections in NEW Clay Mitt Review
I don't know if they're going for "quick and easy" or trying to provide more options.  You may only do a detail or two a year on your own vehicle and the time isn't a huge deal.  When you start working on cars for clients, your perspective changes.  If I can trim time off the process without affecting the final product, I'd be crazy not to do it.  Time is margin.  Margin is money.  I have an obligation to my business and my clients to offer a streamlined, time efficient process and to make smart buying decisions.  If I don't do those things I end up losing money or having to increase prices to keep up and make the work profitable...or worse case scenario, both.

To be honest, the need for different tools and sizes of product has lead me away from exclusively using Adam's Polishes.  I still utilize them as much as I can, but if there's a more cost effective alternative that won't change the quality of the final job...I'm all in.  Having only 8 ounce bottles of product such as polishes forced me to seek alternatives.  As such, Adam's isn't my go-to supplier for polish now despite how well the product works.

My point being that I believe Adam's is trying to offer different tools to different clients for their different needs.  It's hard to please everyone, and not every client is a user of every product.  I'm sure they're well aware the clay mitt isn't for all their customers.  I did order one to put it through it's paces and see how it works and if it simplifies a process for us where we anticipate having to polish anyway (removing the negative of any marring that exists since it'll be polished out anyway).

Adam's seems to do a decent job of market analysis to evaluate the viability of their new products.  Overall, they seem to listen to what people want (although gallons of Odor Neutralizer are still on hold for some reason).  I'd still like to see larger quantities come back of some products (polishes being one).  If they started offering polish in 32 ounce sizes, I'd be a user.  Like I'd mentioned, something for everyone and not everyone uses everything.

Overall I'd say Adam's is on the ball with listening to the wants and needs of their customers.

Antv20 reacted to Kourtney@Adams in Ceramic Coating On Vinyl Wrap
Hey guys, Its been a while since i've posted on the forums but I wanted to share this with everyone. I had a customer who put Adam's ceramic coating over his vinyl wrapped car.

    Here is his review:
"Let me start off this review by saying this is another must have product from Adams polishes for any amateur or professional detailer alike! I recently had the pleasure of receiving the new Adams polishes ceramic coating and I can say without a doubt after using the "compilation" in the past before finding out about Adams polishes that this is the easiest the apply and most hydrophobic ceramic coating I've ever used! It was shipped to me in a very nice looking, professional box set with very easy to understand direction. I recently had my car vinyl wrapped and wanted to keep it looking it's best while also making it earlier to clean with my busy work schedule. While following the directions step by step I was blown away how easy this was to apply, and how fast the cure time was so this didn't have to be a all day project. After letting the car cure in the garage I could already tell a huge difference in how much gloss and shine I gained in the wrap.. and then I applied the ceramic boost that was supplied in the kit and was absolutely blown away! Now washing the car takes half the time clean and get ready for upcoming shows thanks to the Adams ceramic coating. Water just beads up and falls right off the car effortlessly. After showing friends how much gloss it added and easy it makes the car to clean they both ordered their kits. The best part is i still have enough left to coat my other vehicles! Overall I give this a 10 out of 10 and really look forward to trying the Adams polishes wheel ceramic coating and glass coating now that I see how well this performs " - Aaron Day

The coating dries fairly fast and the vinyl absorbs more product because it is soft and porous unlike paint. Just wanted to share incase anyone was curious how easily its applied to vinyl.

Pets will eat anything.  I put those interlocking rubber tiles under my car in the winter (like they have in day cares) but I store them in the basement in the summer. Our 12 year old cat eats them.  I have to wrap them in a tarp so he can't get at them.  But he makes some really colorful poop when he gets ahold of them.

Antv20 reacted to Dan@Adams in Ceramic Boost vs H20 GG
    Ok here we go...buckle up...lol...

For best 'pop' out of these two products, that will be hard to say, but I have been very impressed with Ceramic Boost, and H2o Guard has been my favorite product of ours for quite some time now. Ceramic Boost will be more durable and last longer per application than HGG with even more hydrophobic water repelling characteristics; however, for best results, it works the easiest when applying it to a clean, dry surface - like you would apply Detail Spray in the garage or at a car show. Ceramic Boost does not play nice with windshield glass, so I would not recommend using a wet application like HGG.

If you already have LPS on your vehicle, you can add to that protection and shine with Ceramic Boost, like you would with HGG. I would not recommend layering a sealant or wax on top of the Ceramic Boost, as it's unnecessary and will impact the already mentioned hydrophobic properties of Ceramic Boost.

I do apologize but Ceramic Boost is still a very new product. I've used it on two friend's vehicles as a standalone in addition to testing on my vehicles, and I really really like the product. It does require a little more effort to apply properly as mentioned in other threads, just like HGG has certain application techniques, but for the most part you can spray it on and wipe it off of painted surfaces just like you would use Detail Spray. Think of it like a Detail Spray turned up to Volume 11.

Ceramic Boost is mainly intended for vehicles that will have our ceramic Paint Coating on them, so in most cases it would be Machine Polish > Paint Coating > Ceramic Boost > Wash & Wax; however it can be used without the coating too, so you could also do Paint Sealant > Ceramic Boost, or Paint Sealant > HGG > Ceramic Boost, and so on. As Ricky Bobby mentions below, putting protection like Buttery Wax, Americana, or Brilliant Glaze on top of Ceramic Boost will impact how Boost is intended to work.

Like we've said for years though, you will want to be aware that layering too many different products is not usually a great idea, as it can eventually give less shine and result in a cloudy appearance to the paint finish. I try to keep the rule of no more than 3 layers of products at a time, i.e. Paint Sealant > Brilliant Glaze > Americana, or Paint Sealant > HGG, or Paint Coating > Ceramic Boost, and so on.

The product line is expanding for different options for different customers, but that does not mean that every single product should be layered in some fashion Some people will still prefer Brilliant Glaze and Americana for a show car, some people will want a ceramic Paint Coating for the strongest possible protection and life span per application, and others may not want to spend that much money on a ceramic coating, so an option like Paint Sealant with HGG will still give excellent shine and protection for 4-6 months or so.

No need to do a strip wash if the HGG has already been on there 2 months. You could apply the Ceramic Boost right over top after washing and drying. Or you could put a new layer of HGG down when drying and then apply Ceramic Boost afterward or the next day, etc, but the layer of HGG is redundant in my mind.

    Bingo.

Wash & Wax would be great to use with our Paint Coating and Ceramic Boost since they're all in the same family of products. Our regular blue Car Shampoo will work fine too.

Yep, HGG is awesome in that regard, but as mentioned above, do not use Ceramic Boost on glass.

Antv20 reacted to shane@detailedreflections in First thoughts on new Rupes Polishers
Sorry I never updated this post. I wanted to get a few details out of the way to form some solid opinions on these polishers. Now that I've gotten some time with them, I have to say that I'm impressed and pleased with them. The investment wasn't small, but the versatility of multiple polishers can't be overstated. Anyway, enough with that...on to the nitty gritty and the details.

Rupes 15 - Having used this polisher back to back with my cyclo, I can say that it's definitely more powerful. That's not to say the cyclo can't get it done because it certainly does, but you can feel the "work" the Rupes is doing. The size of the pad covers a good area relatively quickly while providing great cutting power. The cyclo is a little easier to get into some spots when turned sideways. With the Rupes, the pad area is the same regardless of orientation. The downside to the Rupes is that it definitely vibrates a bit more than the cyclo. It's not bad vibration, it's just noticeably different.

Rupes Mini - The Mini serves it's purpose best on bumpers and a, b and c posts. The tool fits in these areas much easier than either the cyclo or the bigger Rupes. The vibration isn't bad at all. I wish instead of being on on/off switch that it were trigger operated and you could vary the speed while using it. But those are minor inconveniences for the times that I'll use this polisher.

Rupes Nano - I can't lie, this polisher was the one that I was most excited to try out. It was the product I felt could pull ahead to some "next level" stuff for me. The versatility of the machine is pretty incredible. I kept finding more uses for it. From seats to brushing interior panels to polishing the thinnest panels. I took it for a test drive on a scratch on a hood. It wasn't one I'd really planned to polish out on this particular detail, but it was a great opportunity to test out the Nano's cutting power. I was impressed by how quickly it made work of the scratch. Granted, it wasn't a horrible scratch by any means. But the Nano took no time to cut through the scratch and to finish down nicely. The uses for the Nano are endless. If you're considering upgrading your arsenal, I'd strongly recommend one. I don't think you'd be disappointed.

    Enjoy!

    Flex 8mm throw forced rotation
Swirl killer 15 mm free floating spindle

The swirl killer is likely smoother the flex is more expensive but likely corrects faster. Also the flex will walk u around if the pad is not perfectly flat . The swirl killer will get pad stall in the curves.
It's really hard to compare those two because there so different. If your a hobbyist the swirl killer will be all your likely gonna need. For me comfort was priority 1. So the flex was out due to the forced rotation.
