HFX Detailing got a reaction from shane@detailedreflections in steamer or portable carpet cleaner
A steamer, like the McCulloch, in my opinion is a lot better for mobile details compared to a bissell extractor. Long story short, the Bissell just seems like a lot of effort and work, if you *need* to use it for your detail, mobile is not feasible unless you have a serious set-up (in which case, you would have something like a Mytee anyways). That is not to say it won't work, it is just not something I personally would want to work on in a mobile condition.

Now, if you have people dropping cars off to you, the Bissell Extractor might be a nice start until you can get something a little beefier, and the McCulloch is still wonderful.

As you can see, in my opinion, the McCulloch Steamer has more use and is probably a better buy. You can also use the steamer around the house more (again, in my opinion   ). I use mine to clean with ease, bathrooms, stuck on food/juice on the floor, dirty hand prints on the walls, the stove, microwave, counters, fridge, garbage can and the list goes on.

    Just my two cents.

The solvent in the BG cuts any nasty stuff on the glass.  Seems new glass is the worst, but once I use Brilliant Glaze on the interior, it's a breeze to clean!

Amazingly well! You let the tool do the work. I only use the turbo stick on tough dirt, with the combination of Deep Wheel Cleaner. Wheel Woolie tackles the rest.

I used the turbo stick on the rims attached. The vehicle had brake failure, extremely baked on brake dust.

Agreed. If the rims are that bad, nothing more satisfying than seeing a turbo stick with Deep Wheel Cleaner in action.

That's why it is not for you. Coatings are targeted to people who just don't have the time.

I will be coating my car, leaving more time to detail others vehicles.

Most coatings only contain enough for 1-2 vehicles. Once the bottle is open, it has a short shelf-life as I understand it (if it is like other coatings).

I do hope they come out with options to buy it separately, and also in bulk.

This has been brought up numerous times. Part of the issue is that Adams Canada looks, feels, and sounds like Adams but in reality it is a separate entity.

I do wish Adams Canada was on par with Adams .com, but if it has not happened yet, it probably won't happen.

We miss out on Mystery Boxes, the new website, but Dexter (Adams Canada) does get the new products pretty fast (we do miss some...), and his service is A+. On the other hand, we benefit in some ways AdamsPolishes.com does not, we get some pretty awesome clearance items, not to mention we still have Adams Quick Sealant where our American neighbors are left out in the cold on this one..

People would probably be happier if Adams Canada, was not called adamspolishes.ca. It gives people the wrong idea and expectation.

You have to be a bit more clear. the water sheeting can be a good thing (ie: sheeting method for drying).

While rinsing, I would hope to see no beads. I want no water on the car at all! I want all the water to sheet right off. To be clear, this is very different than water staying on the car as a sheet, not moving anywhere. Think when it rains, dirty cars tend to have a "sheet" of water where-as freshly cleaned/waxed cars tend to bead.

I'd love for Adams to come out with one finally. I know awhile back they did not believe in such a coating, but then they started working on it (or appeared to be). With the release of wash and wax, I have high hopes a coating is coming soon.

With my luck, it will be right after I finally splurge on CQUARTZ

I am not sure about flawed design, but more so the wrong tool for the job. Like anything with detailing, you need to find out the best process for each situation. If you are dealing with stickiness, it will pull fibers. If the paint was sticky and you used a single soft, it would do the same thing...that is not the single soft's fault. Another example, I worked on one vehicle where it had terrible brake failure and the paint was like sandpaper. This pulled on the washpad and shredded it. That is not the washpads fault, it was the wrong tool for the job.

I used the new glass towel just fine on my windshield, but it was not sticky. My windshield was brand new a few months ago, not much was working well with it. It was terribly sticky. It took multiple washes to get right. Any towel I used on it, pulled and if there was loose fibers, they got stuck to the window. In this situation, yes, the tighter weave was perfect in this situation.

If you are dealing with typical dirt, the scrubber side is perfect.

All-in-all, it is about the right tool for the job. The new glass towel is perfect for some windshields, but not all as you have experienced. Once you eliminate the stickiness, you will be golden.

Is this on a new car, or a new windshield? I find new windshields are terrible to work with. Very sticky. Takes awhile to clean them well enough.

I use it almost every wash. Gets water out of the hard spots. Dries like a dream on a clean vehicle (clay bar/waxed not long ago). If the car can sheet well, sidekick is amazing.

Not to mention, drying tires in no time to apply dressing.

    It is a life saver.

Not in this one. My dream garage would have splash protectors that drape down on a track system from the ceiling. I also have to look into water-catching solutions.

We are not allowed drains here in garages. So all the water kind of sits there, and may/may not drain towards the door.

There are plenty of options (such as those mats that go under the car), I am just not set on any of them yet.

I will watch the vid later on (heading out shortly) for some stuff but wanted to start with, I would do the VRT before the buttery just in case you get any on the trim, that way it should just wipe off.
