Took Friday off. Washed the car and took a drive to the Adams store in Anaheim California.

A little of 'detail something different' today.  My wife's niece has 'brittle bone' disease, and and was not supposed to live past about 2 years old - well she is now 32 and is getting married on Halloween!
I have detailed her mobility van several times, but she wanted her motorized wheelchair detailed for the big day.
I was not sure how to tackle this or what I would need, so I packed the small polishers, Interior stuff, pump bottles of Rinseless and Waterless Wash, APC in several strengths, lots of brushes, and of course Detail Spray.
It ended up that is was like cleaning an engine bay - lots of grimy/greasy bits, some plastic and chrome, plus a little bit of an interior cleanup thrown in.
I took off the seat cushions (they were Alcantara) and cleaned them with Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner using the soft bristle Cockpit Brush.
Next I sprayed down the chair with Rinseless Wash to loosen up the grimey stuff, then worked a section at a time with Waterless Wash & a work MF towel.  I went thru several towels before applying Interior Detailer to the plastic fender, and Detail Spray to the plastics.
Finally I scrubbed the tires with Tire & Rubber Cleaner and a small scrub brush, and applied VRT to finish.
Lots of nooks and crannies on this, and I wished I had brought all my Wheel Woolies to get to some of the hard to reach spots.  But my most used tool was a Popsicle stick wrapped around a MF cloth!

True shine comes from proper paint correction, the rest is enhancement and protection. I know you said you're not interested, but you'll get the best, most consistent results using a machine. That said Adam's does offer some options to polish by hand, and including Scratch and Swirl Remover and Hand Polish. It depends on the overall condition of the paint as well as the results you're after for which you'll need, if not both.

For the enhancement and protection, check out this article for what you may like.

As a rule of thumb, any and every chemical, paint or other liquid should be shaken before being used unless the instructions state not to, such as carbonated soda.  Liquids will separate over time and this is not unique to Adam' products, it is pretty much every product.    I will state that I agree that as a general statement on every bottle and gallon there could be a line added to state "shake before using" to leave no doubt.

falcaineer reacted to TR6speed in Ceramic Boost
While I use the SC3 all the time and love it, I decided to apply the ceramic boost to the car seeing I have not done it in over 4 months.  I also was a little concerned with it streaking, which can be an issue with it.  However I used a totally new method for applying and removing it and it worked like a charm.  No streaking and smooth slick finish.
What I did is I applied it to a microfiber applicator pad.  applied it to a small area and applied it as I do the ceramic spray.   Back and fort overlapping and then across with the over lap also.  Then with a double soft Microfiber polish towel I removed it and buffed it before it could dry.
I sounds like a lot of work, but is most detailing jobs.  However I was able to do the complete car in about 4 hours tops and that was stopping for lunch and a few breaks.  I am after all 75 so I am not as fast as I once was.  Took more time when I was sitting on the ground and having to get up and move.
As I said I love the CS3, but I am sure there is more pop and depth with the boost, but I would not do this all the time.
Here are some pictures.  Not the best as they were taken with by phone and in the garage.

The Ceramic Coating wax is the one I am referring to. Nice catch! I really didn't realize that it was that different than the original ceramic paste wax.

Agreed, it was likely left on too long, and can happen/be seen more often where the application lines overlap. Streaks can also be seen more easily on black. Try some Brilliant Glaze on those areas - yes, even now - and let us know. You may need to end up polishing those areas, but best to start less aggressive.

Correct. The larger spray head also fits the normal 16oz bottles which are taller than the 12oz spray coating. And yes, use the wider pattern. Especially if you don't have any spares, be careful to clean the spray coating nozzle after use or it can/will clog since the coating will cure, making it difficult or impossible to use next time. I like to remove the nozzle completely from the bottle and pull the nozzle trigger several times till the tube is empty, reinstalling the original lid on the bottle between uses. It'll also help take care of your remaining coating, storing it in a temp controlled, dark room.

Wheel Cleaner and Iron Remover are essentially the same product, the latter being a thinner version so it can spread and cover a larger area on painted panels. I would recommend you wipe any residue from the wheels with something like Waterless Wash to avoid potential stains.

Splash back can easily be removed with any of the waterless or Rinseless Wash options.

Hard to believe that I started this thread in the Spring of 2020 and here it is Fall of 2021.  Thanks to a couple of setbacks, the first being a soil issue and the second and longer term item being the pandemic.  The building has finally been put up and now I can start working on the interior and the garage door can be ordered.  We'll get the electrician in next week to finalize the quotes.  I haven't decided if I'm going to have him do all the electrical or just the service entrance and breaker box.  We've used this electrician multiple times and they do good work for a good price.

The first picture is from standing inside the attached (wife's) garage, the second  is from the front yard and the third is the interior.  The garage door opening is 9' x 16' which should let me get anything in there that I desire.  The cross braces on the ceiling are 12' high  which will give plenty of head room to put any vehicle that will fit through the door in the air at least 2 feet.  I've pretty much figured out how I want the lights set up, the only question is whether I do 2, 3 or 4 zones.

No, but you could consider coating them. By doing so, brake dust and other road grime will not stick nearly as much, making use of something like Waterless Wash, Rinseless Wash, or (Graphene) CS3 an option. Of course, the towels should become dedicated to dirty jobs like wheels, engine bays, etc., so mark them accordingly.

TRC can be used for the tires without water, in case you wondered. Spray, agitate with the brush, wipe away, and dress them to your liking.

To your point about staining, wheel cleaners can stain, yes. But by taking some basic precautions the risk can be minimized dramatically, if not basically eliminated.

After polishing, why not apply Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating to the windshield? It works really well on a UTV, which is also plastic.
