I hear what you are saying Mantis.

But, I have been the person to detail all the cars in our family for the last 30 years. Not a pro, but I spend a lot of time researching and applying different products. I have never had an experience like this. I had the car absolutely pristine, bought their kit, followed all directions.

Then used up a bunch of my premium towels, that are now trash. I just don't understand how the Adam's video for correction says you can just rub it off with a towel to level even after 1 hour. At 2 hours you can just apply some extra graphene coating and wipe it off. I couldn't get a fresh wipe in a 6"x 6" area to come off immediately with the towels... Applying more coating on top was also useless. Basically, what they said would take 4 hours in that video to need polishing was happening on my car, that had been sitting in the garage for days and cool to the touch, was happening in less than 5 seconds.

Black Equinox and a Vette, and since I have zero experience in going as far as a full Graphene coating and didn't want to screw it up, I went with the Spray Graphene Coating and been very pleased. Holds up real well, a lot better than I expected.  And I figure about the time it needs done again, something else new will pop up that's even better than a 3 year or 7 year graphene coating, and I won't be "stuck".

I finally got around to getting my truck redone with Graphene Spray Coating.  I did not plan on doing the trunk until the new garage was built, but found out that I'll need to take it on a short trip, so it has to look good.  After doing plenty of other vehicles, it is nice to have my own vehicle done.

The truck is 4 years old and has sat outside since it was purchased and it has 21,000 miles on it.  If it wasn't for the trips, it would probably be under 10k miles.

Performed a mini detail on my new ride today. Mini x 2 as in the size of the car, and the time spent doing it.( I keep it pretty clean, it didn't need much)

The newest member of the family arrived at the dealer on Wednesday and was at my house on Thursday evening.  The best part is that dealer never touched the body or interior, not even to remove the transport markings or tape.  The only thing the deal did was remove the transport protective film.  I washed it on Friday morning and continued Friday evening, Saturday and finished it this morning.

The Ford Escape Hybrid Titanium edition, replaces the daughters Jag since the mileage and fuel cost was taking a serious chunk of her funds.  Running between four restaurants she was burning about $100 in fuel every 3 days.  Why she chose to punish me with another black vehicle, I don't know.

I believe this is the first vehicle that I did not have to clay as the starting point, I did multiple baggie tests and it was as smooth as could be.  There was not even a mushed bug on this vehicle, so it was nice at a great starting point.  As for correcting, it had one small area on one back door that needed a little extra help, otherwise finishing polish was all that it needed.

The first picture is before I started washing it on Friday morning. The next two are when I pulled it out of the garage this morning after getting Graphene Spray Coating top to bottom.

My Scat Pack. The newest thing in my lineup is Graphene Detail Spray. I used it last week as a drying aid and this is just a maintenance was with Car Shampoo.
The Wheels are ceramic Spray coated and honestly I barely ever have to use any Wheel and tire cleaner on them. Same goes with the tires, they however I use VRT and that stuff lasts a few weeks. This is a week later, after a wash , no tire dressing no Drying agent just washed and dry with Adams Drying towels( You can see them in the garage hung up ).

You did not get taken, you got an experience with products you simply don't know how to use properly. You need to learn how to use the products correctly. Watching a few videos on YouTube don't make you a detailer.

Hopefully you can fix your Q5 ( nice car by the way we have a S4 ) . If not look for a very good local detailer that can go over your car and fix it right. Make sure they are up to date and cutting edge. if your not willing to fix it yourself. You did make a nice entry level investment.

I recommend TAR. It might take a few applications but it should work well.

Actually I sometimes feel that way, and I have been an Adams user since his only products were Buttery Wax, Revive Polish and a few others.  Now it seems like every time I get stocked up on a new product out comes some new and better and me being the loyal customer places and order for the new stuff.

Don't be afraid of it. It's super easy to use, and as long as you level any applied on trim, and I recommend in about half the time as you do on paint, you'll be fine. It's an awesome coating and you'll love the results.

    Hello everyone,
I decided on a Swiss Trax floor for my garage. Check it out. I think the Pressure washer looks awesome sitting on it. The Splash of Red really matches well. I also have a Adam's Sign that looks really cool with the flooring.

Adams- We need more Garage accessory's! I have the cool Wall shelf that holds the Wheel woolies and some bottles on top and I plan on some of the bottle holders but how about some more cool stuff? I need to continue adding cool stuff to the garage.

Second time using Graphene Detail spray and I'm getting a Gallon of this stuff. It's by far the very best detail spray I have ever used by anyone. WOW guys what a home run product.
If you ever used CS3 as a detail spray, when you apply it, you get this smooth gliding thick feeling. Like it's a buttery wax. It goes on so silky smooth and makes you feel like your applying something great. This new to me Graphene Detail spray has a very similar feeling. Nothing like the old regular Detail spray which has a nice slickness to it but not on this level, not even close.

Mantis got a reaction from Islander in Comparing 2 Regimens from Protection Standpoint
I would apply it early in the morning before the sun comes up or late in the evening when the sun goes down. Protection should never be applied in direct sun. I don't care if it's made to do it or not. It's so much easier in the shade.

I see you went Ceramic Graphene Spray wax which should work out very well for you. It would work much better if you do a proper wash, clay bar , Iron remover and then a full paint correction as needed. Once the paint if fully prepped , the protection layer will work it's best.

I bought a foam cannon and needed to switch the 1.2 mm orifice to a 1.1 mm to get it to work with the lower power from an electric.
See if you can buy a smaller orifice. If not, buy the Adams.
Recently I bought the Adams premium foam cannon, and I only wish it was cheaper so I could have bought 2. It's fantastic foam cannon, no adjustments needed.

You will always get more foam out of a gas pressure washer than an electric one for sure. I have both and if you want to thicken up your foam, use Adams Mega Foam or run hot water into your pressure washer, that will definitely work. I had my plumber run a hot and cold line out to my garage and I have hot and cold water all year long !

I finally had the time to do a full detail on the wife's 2018 Chevy Equinox.  After the wash and clay bar the previous day I took a lot of time looking over the body for paint issues and found only a few minor issues and was able to correct them with my Swirl Killer.  After the complete polish of the body I used the surface prep and them began the application of the ceramic spray.  I forgot how much more work was involved on this then my Corvette but finally finished.
    Here is the results>

    Thanks,
My Wife is the only one who doesn't like it as much. She thinks the Gray is boring. She thought it would have looked better if I did the entire floor in the Black and white checkers. I wanted it to just be clean. If it wasn't for my son fooling around with the Swiss Trax floor designer, the entire floor would have been just Slate Gray. It was my intention with painting the concrete gray to match the flooring . He designed a Race Flag in and when he did that, I changed the ramps to red which looks awesome.
